6 Ways To Bring In Even More New Repair Customers From Mechanic Advisor

Posted October 20, 2015 by Bobby Gaglini

Having a Mechanic Advisor featured listing is an extremely valuable way to bring new customers into your repair shop. And while simply having a featured listing will add new customers, optimizing your shop profile will draw in even more than before:

  1. Cultivate reviews.
After performing excellent service on a vehicle, kindly ask your customer if they wouldn’t mind leaving a nice review for you on MechanicAdvisor.com. Search engines love the added content to your profile page, directing even more traffic to your shop listing. Moreover, it encourages other searchers on Mechanic Advisor to click on your 5-star rating.

But hey, even if you have a negative review, don’t sweat it! Those reviews can be a great way to see how your business can improve. And once you improve, the positive reviews will start coming in. Remember, if you have all positive reviews, it sometimes looks fishy. No business is perfect!

  2. Add real shop photos.
Adding actual photos of your shop and staff at work is a great way for potential customers to get a true taste of what your business runs like. Having a few photos of the shop when it’s empty and clean (so people can see that you’re organized), along with one or two when it’s busy (so they can see that other people trust you as their mechanic), will exemplify that your business is running smoothly.

  3. Add valuable coupons.
Like it or not, tons of drivers base their decision of where to take their vehicle on price and coupons. And while the old saying, “Cheap work isn’t good, and good work isn’t cheap,” always rings true, you sometimes need to sweeten the deal a little bit.

Having a featured listing gives you the opportunity to create special coupons for your customers. So while you don’t have to make yourself the cheapest option out there, having a “10% off repairs over $100” coupon might give a customer that extra push to come to your shop.

  4. Include more "Meet the Mechanic" information.
People don’t trust faceless companies. People trust other people. Adding your smiling snapshot to your profile can ease new customers into choosing your shop over another.

As well, adding a quick bio of who you are, your automotive experience, and what your shop does best adds some character to you and your shop, and brings in customers looking for an individual they can trust.

  5. Add relevant certifications.
Including extra elements of trust in your featured listing can give you a better chance of attracting new customers. This is especially true for people looking for a shop online as they’re looking for credibility to latch onto.

Letting people know that you have an ASE or I-Car certification can give your profile more authority than the other shops in your vicinity.

  6. Include Facebook and website links.
Finally, if you have them, link your company Facebook page and/or company website on your Mechanic Advisor profile.

Having these links can add additional traffic to your website or Facebook page, and can potentially be the last stop on a customer’s online journey before coming to your shop.
