Emissions testing service near Vandergrift, PA

While visiting Pittsburgh, I had to schedule an oil change and went to Baum Blvd Automotive on the strength of their service to my 2005 Honda Civic when I lived in Pittsburgh. It turned out that, over the course of a New England winter, my car had accumulated a couple of extra problems since work was last done, including a rusty oil pan and damaged rear wheel hubs. I want to note that Baum Blvd Automotive went out of their way to earn my trust on somewhat pricy repairs, offering to call my regular mechanic and seeking out ways to offer me discounts. When I got home and had a regularly scheduled tire swap, my mechanic noted that Baum Blvd Automotive had definitely identified problems I would not want to drive home on and they would have given me similar advice. My only note is that it took rather a long time for the parts to arrive. I was not in a hurry, however, and I did leave Pittsburgh on schedule and safely, thanks to Baum Blvd Automotive.

THUMBS DOWN! ZERO STARS!! It is a shame that one mean employee will forever affect how I view this business. There is a grassy lot across the street from this garage and there is NO signage to state who the lot belongs to. It doesn't say PRIVATE PROPERTY either. I was at a Halloween parade for my kindergartner at a school ALSO across the street. I parked in this grassy lot NOT BLOCKING ANYONE AT ALL and I had to leave the parade, move my car and miss seeing my son's first parade because of some awful woman threatening to tow parents that parked there. While I understand you do not block cars no matter where you park- I wasn't in anyone's way and parked perfectly legal. I had to have a confrontation with this woman and miss seeing my son in his parade. Way to show your support for the community- especially to parents coming to a school event. Here's an idea....GET SOME SIGNS PUT UP instead of harassing innocent parents that have no clue that it is your freaking lot. Really?

Car needed inspection & asked him to change the oil. The car did not need anything at all to pass inspection. Total charge for simple inspection & oil change - $83.48. Here is the breakdown of charges: Oil - 21.25 Oil filter 5.50 Sticker 5.00 Inspection 22.00 Labor 25.00 Tax 4.73 When I asked him why he charged over $50 for a service you can get anywhere else for $25 he said "that's because he changed all the oil - those other places don't change it all". Maybe because I'm female he thought I was stupid so I told him I knew how to change oil & when you take out the plug & unscrew the filter the oil all comes out. Then he just stood there grinning, but still no offer to refund part of the charge. If you want ripped off this is the place to go.

I wanna give Pepboys in monroeville zero stars because they have no idea what they are doing. They just try to rob people I went to get my car inspected everything was fine but failed the inspection because my front tires they think was getting bad and headlights bulbs wernt in right position. Fine I got it fixed got new tires and went back and then front break pads are bad this is rediculous I left my job to get these things done and after waiting for two hours and then had to contact them my self that what's taking so long then gotta find out pads are bad like wow..... Which I don't even believe it was my cars pads. pep boys in monroeville is just trying to rob as many customers as they can to make money. I don't think I'll be ever coming back to this place and neither I will recommend anyone because of there customers service and there work.

Terrible all around - horrible customer service and have a knack for finding phantom problems. Would give a 0 star rating if available

I went to Finks for an inspection and emissions. The mechanic (young guy) came up with a short list of things that needed to be fixed. The price he gave me I thought was absurd. I took my car to a different mechanic who came up with the same exact list of things to be fixed but charged less than half the price. Beware.
