2006 chevy 1500
submitted by billy
I have a 2006 Chevy 1500 series extend a cab with a 5.3 v-8 . 4x4 pick up truck. I would like to know if I changed the auto-matic transmission oil to Redline synthetic oil and the rear end oil to Royal purple oil synthetic oil. Will I have better gas mileage. I already put a K&N air manifold kit and put Bosh Fusion Plugs and gain a little more gas mileage . So if I changed the oil will it be better then using regular factory oil that came with the truck and what gm calls for.

Jamie ,
billy i have used these olis before in my street cars, redline and royal purple are far superior then factory oils. redline and royal purple are designed to make your truck stay cooler and run smoother. In my opinion i would say that you could gain up to 3 miles a gallon depending on how you drive. The only down side is the cost, but you will gain in the long run with a smoother running tranny and rear end. Good luck..
