Hand Brake Release Handle Replacement : 1992 Oldsmobile Ciera

Car Model: 1992 Oldsmobile Ciera
Location: Puyallup, WA Submitted on October 3, 2013

The cable for the handle to release my emergency brake broke off. I figured out how to get the brake released, but now cannot figure how to replace a new handle and cable.
I can see how to disconnect the cable from the lever, but I cannot figure out how to get the assembly through the dash. I believe the hole is keyed but I cannot seem to find the position for it to come out. Any suggestions?
