I have a 2002 saturn s- series that occasionally will idile at 2000 RPM'S,what would cause this problem?

I ran into this problem on a customers car.turns out it was a faulty o2 sensor.perform a diagnostic check and make sure all sensors are within spec

This could be a number of things: Engine may be overheating. Fuel pressure too low (Check regulator). Ignition timing may be off. May be a vacuum leak. Alternator may be going. ...... Or it could be just the idle speed control unit.

i agree with bob, this could be one of many things. i would try changing the fuel filter. vacuum leaks are hard to find and are usually the culprit. take your care to a local shop and have it vacumm tested...
