it sounds like your might need a socket attached to a wobbley extention and then another extention to attach to your racthet so you can lossen the bolts. sometimes maybe just a stubby wrench.

I have heard that you have to remove the intake manifold to get to them. You will need to have a new gasket to re-install

Is there a special tool to get to the bolt to remove the gasket? no clearance? I did get a new gasket.
