transmission seems to go out too often, granted it is a 2001, but has been serviced since day one . but the tranny begins to shift rough then gets worse final stage it quits running ...are these just bad transmissions or what?

sounds like its your intake gasket. make sure you top off your fluid so you dont blow your motor till you get it fixed..

I have heard that you have to remove the intake manifold to get to them. You will need to have a new gasket to re-install

try changing your fuel filter it sounds to me like once the particals in the fuel settle the car will start, then it clogs and the car stalls and wont start till they settle again. this has worked for me in the past...

This could be a number of things: Engine may be overheating. Fuel pressure too low (Check regulator). Ignition timing may be off. May be a vacuum leak. Alternator may be going. ...... Or it could be just the idle speed control unit.

If its sputtering and you have full power it's most definitely the fuel system maybe the fuel pump, injector, etc.

This sounds like you might have to much coolant in your overflow container, sometimes fluid will purge and come out the overflow tube and spill on your exhaust or moter. Its not an issue but you will get that smell just take some fluid out...
