When he arrived, he stated he wasn't familiar with this specific engine but shouldn't be a problem. He should have mentioned that before he came out and I should of sent him on his way at that point but was in the middle of a full marine survey and haul out. Spent about an hour looking at the engine and came up with a "looks good" statement. Wrote up a 1 page report double spaced with hardly any information worthwhile to help with a decision. Charged me the yard rate a 3 hours. Needless to say, I am repowering in less than six months after his thorough diesel survey.
