I'm currently three weeks in and have learned so much from Steve (the owner) and his right hand man Clint. I walked into this class knowing absolutely nothing about trucks and now three weeks in can name everything under the hood, can do an in cab test, can name everything on the trailer and learned to drive a manual transmission in traffic! Both guys are the most patient and kindest men you will ever work with. Their number one priority (aside from helping you pass your test!) is your safety. They will never put you in a situation that they don't think you can handle or that will make you feel too uncomfortable. Both guys have different styles of teaching and cater to the way you learn best. Everything is hands on from day one which really helps you learn quick and gets you the experience you need for the real world. They have been a huge help with referring me to different trucking companies depending on whether I want to be OTR, regional or local and will help you with job placement when the time comes. They usually work with about three to four students at a time to make sure you have the best student to teacher ratio and they give you all time in the world to ask as many questions as you need. I highly recommend coming here. You will not be disappointed at all! I'd give them 100 stars if I could! :)I'm currently three weeks in and have learned so much from Steve (the owner) and his right hand man Clint. I took the time to research the schools in my area and some beyond before deciding to attend this one based on two different things. The first one is the instructor to student ratio which provides you with a lot of time for questions and answers. There were times when I was alone in the truck all day with only the teacher. The second part was the amount of time actually spent on the road as opposed to sitting in a classroom. Clint, my instructor, was very knowledgeable and never lost his patience with me. He keeps the class going and switches things up so it doesn't get tedious. If you are looking to get into this industry or get a CDL for any reason I would definitely put this school at the top of your list. The only other advice I can give is to be realistic and very patient with yourself, it is not as easy as it looks.I took the time to research the schools in my area and some beyond before deciding to attend this one based on two different things. First there are not enough words to praise the passion, enthusiasm, and knowledge that Steve and Clint possess. This school will give you all the tools and more you will need to obtain a CDL license and base knowledge of the trucking industry. Both my wife and I went through the school and we both feel we made a great choice going with this school, Springs Truck Driving School. The amount of "hands on" time is awesome! The instructors are calm and understanding of the challenges of learning so much so quickly. They do not apply undue pressure to perform, and continue to encourage us to slow down and take our time. When one method of teaching doesn't connect with a student, they change their approach, or switch up instructors to allow another perspective. In the first week we each have nearly 30 hours behind the wheel, and our pre-trip and in-cab are nearly perfect due to the daily repetition. We could go on and on and on. Thanks Steve and Clint!! We are proud graduates of Springs Truck Driving School!!First there are not enough words to praise the passion, enthusiasm, and knowledge that Steve and Clint possess. A huge thank you to STDS and Steve for helping me through this very stressful thought process, I tried to pass the tests on my own and was very apprehensive, yet Steve talked me into coming in to see how he simplified the CDL Drivers hand book and he is right. it took me less than 3 days and I was getting more and more confident in my ability to comprehend what I was reading. I passed my tests and also learned to Drive a commercial truck thanks to the confidence I got from Steve and his program. I highly recommend this School to anyone wanting to get their CDL license. STDS has a hands on approach that is easy to learn Thank you again STDS for helping me get this & get a job.
