After damaging my lower unit, prop shaft, prop and skeg due to a rock strike, I did an online search for Mercury repair shops. Although there were several shops closer to me, the reviews for Gulf Coast Marine Service in Hommosassa, FL led me there. The reviews were spot on, everyone at this shop are good people. They kept me and my insurance adjuster informed every step of the way. They did great work and I'm back on the water! I would highly recommend this shop to take care of your Mercury! Called during my lunch break to see if he had the right throttle cable... read more Called during my lunch break to see if he had the right throttle cables for my Outboard motor.... He said hang on while he checked while I waited on the phone.... Came back and said he didn't have 11ft cable but that 14 ft for $31 each that would work and had 2 new ones....He stated that he was open until 5 pm. So I left work early and arrived at 450pm... He wasn't there and young man working outside said he would be back in 20 min.... 30 min later Scott -owner shows up..... He goes in to look for cables and comes back 10 min later saying he only had 1 cable.....I then said but I specifically asked u if u had in stock and u said yes.... He made excuse and then said he had used cables and would look at those..... 5 min later comes back amd says only ones he were high performance one that were used and estimated price at over $50 each...... Total waste of my time.
