They should be the first stop source for all mechanical needs but especially when you need a second opinion. I have been a client of this business since moving to Ft Worth in 2008. I often got the extra services they recommended (fuel and air filters, etc.) On Jan 17 of 2014, along with the oil change, they recommended an oil cleaner, as I have an older car (2000 Nissan Altima, 163,000 mi.) Wanting to extend the engine life, I agreed. They also said that the alternator bearings were making noise, and that it need replacing. No other noise was mentioned. Less than 50 miles later, the engine blew. All the mechanics I took the car (or consulted on the phone) said that they NEVER recommended oil cleaners for older cars. After two months without a car (getting groceries on foot), and after extensive research into the best used engines and mechanics who could install them, I again had running vehicle. $3000 +. I took the receipts by Shine and requested some compensation. I went back by and was informed that the cleaner could not have caused the problem, and was offered not even a car wash. If I could afford it, I would sue. As a senior dependent on SS, I cannot. Needless to say, I'll never be back.
