Type of Repair: Windshield repair
Last Visit: 9 Months
This is simply the worst glass repair shop I have ever been to!!!! On 1/12/12 I called Liberty Glass and asked for an estimate to replace a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Ltd. windshield. I was quote $160 to replace the windshield and an additional $10 for the molding. On 1/13/12 we brought the Jeep in, and they replaced the windshield. When the vehicle was brought to our house we saw the repair job, and returned to the business to complain about the quality of the work. The bottom edge of the windshield has a 1/4 inch gap that has been filled with some urethane compound. It looks terrible and was poorly done with bumps, gaps, and pits throughout. The windshield is skewed in the frame so that the molding does not sufficiently overlap the car's bodywork to form an effective moisture barrier. When we spoke to one of the staff at Liberty, he said that he had done the compound work himself, and that it had been really hard to do. When we insisted on speaking to the manager, we were able to speak to "Joey," who told us that this was the best his shop could do, and then refused to offer any resolution to the matter. The shop also exceeded the molding quote by $10 and refused to honor their estimate. These guys should be avoided at all costs. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
