I told him my problem, it is a project I was working on, it was out of my VW Baja Bug. So he took my core right away pressurized it, said it might be better if he found a new core, come back in about hour. I returned and asked if it would be better to put the new core on instead of fixing it. He handed me the core and said the job is already done. He was able to repair it. Well done Sun West Radiator Repair! It was worth the hour drive for me to have them do the repair.

I throughly explained to "Hal" what problem I was having with my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, that it was running hot (210-240) especially in traffic. He emphatically stated that a new radiator ($420)would fix this problem, When it didn't, he knew it because he told me it was still running a bit hot but drive it a few days and then get back to him. Later that day I called back to advise that I seen no change what so ever in the running temp. He stated (theorized)that it had to be the fan clutch ($70) and if I went out and bought one at Autozone he would install it. Did so. Still no change whatsoever. Less than a week later the top radiator hose blew from age/deterioration. NOTHING was ever said about the need for new hose(s). That caused a severe overheat, caused 2 wires to melt together in the main harness (another $420)that shorted out the compressor. Everytime I called back to advise of issues, it was always my fault, them never taking responsibility for never checking the hoses, putting the wrong pressure cap on (13# instead of the Jeep recommended 18#) and after all that it was ME that checked the thermostat and finding it was bad. $910 in repairs when a $28 part was the root of the whole issue. I would NEVER take another vehicle close to this shop!
