I went to them with a hanging parking brake but they didn't discover the problem until they convinced me the problem was due to me needing all new brakes and rotors "over $1100" and to top it off the brakes they replaced they had installed less than 3000 miles before. TO FIX THE REAL PROBLEM THEY DISABLED MY EMERGENCY BRAKES. (((Are they dishonest or just incompetent)))

So far everything is running great. No one including myself wants to spend money on an older SUV but it turns out that it was cheaper than buying a new or used car with higher miles. So, for a few thousand bucks, I have a SUV that my 16 year old can drive. Looks good and runs great. David was very helpful in the process and straight forward about the costs. He gave me a competitive quote for the engine and after evaluating what else the truck needed...It was my decision....no pressure. It made sense to invest a bit more to address other non-engine related issues. I had my truck back in just over a week. I was referred to Michigan Motor Exchange by another automotive shop. I am happy with my experience.

I took it here because it is near to my house and didn't want to tow it. They initially charged me $45 to look at the car and then wanted to charge $600 to fix something called a master cylinder. Initially I said go ahead with the repair. I called my regular mechanic (who is on the other side of town unfortunately) said to me not to get it fixed there. At that pointe, I called them back and said not to fix it and I would pick it up. They charged me an additional $30 for brake fluid in addition to the $45 for looking at it. I ended up paying $75 for pretty much nothing, just a mis-diagnosis of what was actually wrong with my car and will never take it here again no matter who owns this place.
