They seemed nice, and told me I also needed new lug nuts because the last garage had put them on too tight. After $1,100 I picked up the car after hours and it still made wheel noise, only this time a bump bump bump sound. I had to take the car out of town the next day. While in VA I stopped for gas and to check out the increased noise. The tire was loose. I had the car towed to a different garage and they told me the lug nuts had not been tightened and the brake line was not properly connected. I called A&J to explain and sent them a copy of the invoice with photos from the other shop. The person on the phone said he'd let the owner know. Since then (one week) I've reached out and have heard nothing. No discussion, no offer to help, no apology. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I had the codes looked at, and I was told that I needed to take my vehicle to a transmission expert. I took my vehicle to Affordable Transmission and Auto Repair on Capital Blvd in Raleigh. My car was repaired that week at a much less price than anticipated. I just want to thank Eddie for a job well done and for his honesty. If you are looking for honest and reliable mechanic I recommend that this is the place to bring your vehicle.

Shortly after he picked up the car after having the clutch replaced, the clutch went out. Had it towned back to the shop. Cost another $200 for an additional part for the clutch. He drove the car for another four months and the clutch went out completely. Has to be completely replaced - again. Seems the parts are covered for one year, but the work is only covered for 30 days. Todd will replace the clutch but will charge labor again - another $650. But, great guy that he is, Todd was willing to cut me a break and only charge me $325 for the labor to replace a clutch that had been used less than four months. Sounds like a real bargain to me.....$900 for the clutch; $200 for an additional part; and another $325 for labor, for a total cost of over $1,400 for a clutch. Real bargain. I'll have a new clutch put in, but I'll go where the work is guaranteed and reliable, and pay another $900 to have it done right. Oh, I forgot to say how gracious he was about towing the car that left my daughter and my young grandson stranded on Route 440, he offered to have it towed to his shop for only another $50.
