Both Shell businesses are addressed at 4110 Colonel Glenn Hwy in Beavercreek, Ohio. Both web addresses come back to Mr. Taylor. Mr. Taylor's business, not surprisingly, has an "F" rating with the BBB for "Unresolved Complaints." Mr. Taylor is no longer eligible to advertise his services through "Living Social" as well for unethical business practices and non-compliance with their business practices. My exposure to Mr. Taylor was through "Living Social." Offered a mobile detail and was to come to my work site to perform the service. After being one hour late for his scheduled arrival, I called Mr. Taylor he claimed to be running a couple of hours behind (at 09:00 AM?) and said he would have to reschedule. The only open appointment, he claimed was almost three weeks in the future. Having already paid, I told him that would be okay. When I asked him why he had not called when he realized he would be a couple hours late, he replied, he was just busy. Several minutes after I got off the phone with Mr. Taylor, he called me back and started asking questions about my vehicle. This information had been submitted at the time of my appointment scheduling. When I told him It was a SUV, he said “oh, that's going to take extra time”. I told him that I'd paid an additional fee, since it was an SUV. He said yea, but I hadn’t figured that into the job? He then asked if I had animals. I said that I had a dog but he'd not been in the vehicle for over 6 months and the vehicle had since been detailed. Mr. Taylor replied, yea, well that is going to cost another $30. due to the additional time involved with the cleaning. I told Mr. Taylor that there was no mention of additional fees associated with pet hair removal (as of today’s date, there is still no reference)and again, my dog had not been in the vehicle since having been last detailed. Mr. Taylor again said there would be an additional $30. fee. At this point, it was obvious that Mr. Taylor, since he'd already been paid by "Living Social" was not interested in completing the detail, without gouging for an unadvertised, extra fee. I contacted Living Social’s customer service with my complaint. They said that Mr. Taylor had violated their business rules by not contacting me 48 hours prior to the appointment if he was unable to keep his scheduled appointment and issued my account a credit for the amount paid. After I got off the phone with Living Social (less than 30 minutes)I had a friend call Mr. Taylor for a detail appointment. Mr. Taylor told my friend that he could detail her vehicle first thing the following morning. This is after he'd just told me that he was booked solid for the next three weeks? he then went on to quote my friend a price that was higher than what was advertised on his website. When confronted about the different price, Mr. Taylor offered the lower price. When my friend told Mr. Taylor that she would have to check her schedule and call him back to schedule the appointment, Mr. Taylor told her that the price would be $30. dollars more if she called back. My friend told Mr. Taylor that she did not appreciate his high pressure sales approach. Mr. Taylor then told her that he was not using high pressure sales tactics. When my friend told him that raising the price $30. if she didn't schedule right then was in her opinion, a pressure tactic. Mr. Taylor's response? I don't really care what you think. Wow. I called Mr. Taylor back as soon as my friend got off the phone with him. When I asked why he told my friend that he could get her in the following morning, yet told me that he was booked solid for three weeks? Mr. Taylor became VERY unprofessional and used profanity. I informed Mr. Taylor that I had contacted Living Social who issued a refund. I also informed him that Living Social said that he had violated their business practices and would not be able to advertise with them in the future and that I considered his business conduct to be very unprofessional. I informed Mr. Taylor that I intended to give his business(s) negative reviews so that other potential customers wouldn't be scammed. Again, Mr. Taylor resorted to profanity and said he didn't care what I did. Bottom line, Mr. Taylor's "F" BBB rating speaks for itself. Steer clear of this unethical shyster and his alleged business...

A few days later called the merchant, he said he did not do detailing during the winter and would start again in March. On March 10 I called, and the appointment was set for April 12 with the agreement that I would transport my car to his location. I did have some trouble finding the location as it is not as his website states. (Note that his website is under a different name as well, New Life Auto Detailing.) Finally got hold of him and he had "hurt his leg" (though never called me to reschedule) and re-scheduled for April 19 (today). Showed up today, no one there. Texted to let him know I was there. No response for over half an hour. During that time the owner of the location showed up and knew the guy's name (Daniel Taylor) and explained that this had happened a lot. Also discovered there were a lot of complaints here about him not living up to bargain and demanding more money. At this point I am leery of allowing him access to my car. When I let him know via text that I would not be requiring his services, first he told me he was closed this weekend, then that he ONLY did mobile appointments, then that he had moved from the location, then that he hadn't done drop off appointments in years, then drop offs were only for car dealers... Then he offered me a refund through LivingSocial, then he offered me a free detail "for next time". Unfortunately, my first thought to not let anyone else drive my vehicle has turned out to be spot-on.

About 2 months ago I called and got an appointment for the truck, knowing we would have to leave it and pick it up later in the day. So we dropped it off at the appointed time of 10 AM and returned at 5 PM to pick it up. When we dropped it off the "lot" was filled with cars and people cleaning them - but when we returned to pick it up it was the only one there - being "washed" by a single young man. We arrived at 5 PM, but he said he still had some work to do on it and that we should return at 5:30 - which we did. It is very obvious that this young man did a half-hearted job in that 30 minutes. I don't know why our vehicle was left till the absolute end of the day, but the wheels didn't get done, the roof, the bed of the truck had not been touched. As in other reviews here we were told we had to pay more for a tip BEFORE any work would be done - VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Because I still have a coupon for the car I reluctantly called for another appointment today only to find the number is no longer in service!! Now I will contact Living Social.
