I took my car to Gillece on Rt 51 and after testing and road testing they fixed a solenoid body and I was on my way. I was upset because they had my car for 2 days before I knew the exact problem, although the other shops also had it for 2 or so days, but I am glad they took their time and found the correct fix or I would have replaced a whole transmission instead of just the parts it needed.

When I drove my car after that, the transmission appeared to acted worse. A few weeks later, as the transmission progressively got worse, I called up Gillice to ask them several questions. Bob answered the phone. He mentioned that his shop is the only shop in Pittsburgh that has the equipment he has. He mentioned he can not give the exact estimate of the transmission unless it is taken apart. He said that the quote will be between $900-$1,500, but it depends on what parts need replaced. I told him that the orgional quote was from $900-1,300. He said that Jim told him that he thinks he said $900-1,500 to me. He did not remember and I did. I chose Gillice for the $900 slot over the quote from another transmission shop of $1,000-1,200 which they guaranteed the price will not exceed $1,200. Bob tells me that Jim was quoting me for the transmission parts itself when I know he was quoting me for the entire cost from start to finish (before taxes). Bob tells me that he will keep the cost as close as $1,300 if I proceed him to take the transmission apart. I figured I would only be paying $100 more and decided him to proceed. When the transmission was apart, it was not until Monday, (Thursday I sent the car in and he told me it would be ready in three days at most). He calls me up and gives me the price for the labor, $85 times 7.2 which is about $700. So, that I know that is the price I must pay currently over the price of the other transmission shop of $75 an hour. He tells me to visit his shop to get a better understanding of how he came up with the $1788 price tag for the transmission. I went over and we went on a tour. He first showed me a part that was broken, and one that is torn, which cost about $25 each. My car had no front wheels on hosted on a car crane. He showed me the fly wheel, which I added additional service because it is required to remove th
