The folks at Hanover Lube and Brake have always been great no matter what the problem was with my car or my family member's cars...The girls at the desk (usually Tammy and Connie) are welcoming and very helpful in arranging times to bring my car(s) in for service...They are also very knowledgeable about car repairs in general...Dean has always been very kind and generous (not just with me and my family) with anyone who comes into the shop...I highly recommend Hanover Lube and Brake for all of your car care needs !

Was able to get in same day. Very friendly staff. Went to Ranglin’s after calling around and being told I would have to wait at least a week to get my car in. Got a appointment next day and was able to get I pick up car using there after hours lock box. Also price was very reasonable. Will definitely be coming back for my future car service needs.

Folks, please avoid York Tire & Auto. Being new to the area, I made the mistake of taking my car here to get inspected since they had the quickest availability. If I had bothered to look at the reviews (Google and Yelp) more carefully I would have kept looking and gone elsewhere. That was my first mistake. $50 to replace one wiper blade (they wouldn't let me do it myself), $90 to replace my license plate bulbs ($7.50 for a pack of two at Autozone, two screws each to get to the bulbs). They wanted $900 to do my rear brakes (they said shoes and drums and wheel cylinders needed to be replaced), but after calling around to other shops in town every other estimate was $400-600 worst case scenario. They also said I needed all new tires since I made the second mistake of telling them the car had just been sitting for an extended period of time. But when I took the car to a tire place last week I was told my tires looked almost new (they were, they were purchased just prior to the last inspection) and didn't need replacing, and that any flat spots in my tires from them sitting had likely worked themselves out after driving on them more. I ended up taking the car to another local shop (with no bad reviews) who changed the brakes and drums for $400 total. They also verified the tires were in good shape and that the rear wheel cylinders were fine. Bottom line, York Tire & Auto wanted over $1700 to pass the safety inspection, even though the car had largely been sitting and was even exempt for the emissions inspection since it had less than 5000 miles since last inspection. They flat out wanted to rob me. An honest shop would have said, "Hey we can't pass your inspection because the tires have flat spots from sitting, but if you drive on them more they will likely even out." With so many auto shops in this area there's no reason to take your car to a place like this where they will look for every opportunity to upsell you on things you likely won't need. Buyer beware.

I am an outraged customer who took my car to Franklins to get my battery replaced. Not only was the wrong battery installed, but it was also mounted incorrectly despite obvious signs of this problem. The plastic clip on top would not even latch to close. When I got home and lifted the hood, LOOSE PARTS WERE SITTING BESIDE THE BATTERY, and the corrosion on the terminals was not cleaned. To top off this wonderful experience, the replacement inspection stickers that were placed on my car were incorrect, and I really enjoyed cleaning grease from the inside of my car. I was assured that these mistakes were not reflective of Franklin’s reputation. I admit – I may not know much about cars, but I do know that I do NOT trust Franklins with my vehicle and will not be a returning customer.

December 30, 2020, my wife and I were on our way to North Carolina to visit our daughter. About 180 miles into our trip our alternator burnt out. Because I thought the issue was a faulty battery, I called AAA for a battery service. The tech determined the alternator was the issue. She could not recommend a nearby mechanic and said we'd be hard pressed to get service given the New Years holiday. Not being from the Carlisle, PA area, we decided to conduct a Google search and found T&M Automotive was about a 1/2 mile away. Turns out they are a AAA approved shop. Go figure why the AAA tech didn't know them! We spoke with Henrik who agreed to help us out. They were amazing!!! Henrik was able to get the required part, had his tech install it, test drove it and got us back on the road 3 hours later. The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent. They could have easily charged us more and we would have had to pay it given our situation. If you live in the Carlisle area, I highly recommend you use T&M Automotive for your car care. Insp. on relatives car that shouldn't have passed inspect. because of bad brakes (but schwebach said brakes 75% good & passed inspect.), which could have been deadly if not corrected by another station. He also was to fix customer complaints (that didn't get fixed) but schwebach said were fixed & they were charged $289. Three months later customer took car to another State Insp. Station because complaints weren't fixed by schwebach & new ststion told her brakes are so bad can't drive car (the bad brakes was what was causing the complaints from owner). New station charged $400+ to fix the complaints owner was making which were bad brakes making the noises. Car wasn't driven enough to cause bad brakes in that amount of time, schwebach even admitted that brakes couldn't get that bad in 3 months for the small amount that the car was driven. Schwebach was asked to refund $289. charged for fixing complaint he didn't fix & for not fixing bad brakes when he should have seen them bad & he refused to refund any amount. Everything was fixed when taken to the other station & paid $400.+. $400.+ should not have had to been charged & paid for by owner @ the new station if schwebach would have fixed everything complained about by customer in the beginning. Owner is filing a Consumer Complaint w/ Attorney General's Office in Harrisburg & also the Pa. State Police took filed complaint & is investigating for inspecting a car that should not have passed inspection w/ obvious bad brakes (we have all documents to back up complaints on schwebach). He is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE person to deal w/ when taking this complaint to him to be resolved THAT I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH & I worked in Customer Service for over 30 yrs. in Motor Vehicle Dept. in Harrisburg, so I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT W/ THIS PROBLEM, that's why we are filing everywhere we can to avoid another person having a problem like we had or having an accident because of schwebach's bad workmanship. He shouldn't be allowed to get away w/ extrememly bad work performance that could have horrific consequences.

Great place Jim and Jody hooked us up on a friday while driving to a campground and our check engine light came on. Did a google search and found them. It was a o2 sensor that came up on the computer. Got replaced in a half and hour and we were on our way. 9 months later still no light and the truck gets better gas mileage. We price checked with the dealership and it was half the price than what they wanted. This garage is mechanicsburg's best keep secret. I take all of our cars there now. I utilized Foster's for my 70K service. Scheduling was easy, and they were quick. Their labor rate is about $20 or more on the hour less than Rahal Lexus. I shall return!
