A friend had recommended Efrain and EG motors, as they had built and installed a complete engine in his older mini van. It runs great to this day. I brought my 99 Ford Contour to EG Motors for a complete clutch replacement after 182k on factory parts. They performed the job quickly, reliably and economically. They also backed their work in writing with a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty. Something many auto shops no longer offer, especially on older vehicles. We picked the car up and it shifted and drove as expected. After driving the car on its new clutch for 11 months and 11, 924 miles, the clutch suddenly emitted a loud popping noise. It would than not shift out of its current gear or into another. We brought the car back to EG motors, only a few miles and days prior to the expiration of the initial warranty period. The transmission was removed for diagnosis and upon examination of the clutch and its components, it was clear a spring had released from the new clutch plate. This was clearly a manufacturer defect and absolutely no the fault of EG motors. They took immediate action and replaced it without question. We again took the car home and again, a few months later, we noticed another issue with the “new” clutch, as it appeared to have developed a slight slipping. We discussed this with Efrain and he asked us to return the car to his shop. They again replaced our second clutch kit and upon pickup, they insisted on a test drive to ensure we were completely happy with the second, “new” clutch, which was from a different manufacturer. The work, time and expense EG motors performed on our vehicle went over and above my expectations. They were genuinely concerned that our car performed as we felt it should and really listened to our concerns. I would not hesitate to recommend Efrain and EG motors to my friends as I know you can count on them to solidly stand behind their work and back their product. Thank you Efrain and EG Motors. We delivered the vehicle to Mr. Turner's house since he wouldn't answe... read more We delivered the vehicle to Mr. Turner's house since he wouldn't answer his phone and he still refused to pay for the oxygen sensor replacement. To this day Mr. Turner still has not paid for that repair. Oh, and this fellow engineer that Mr. Turner mentioned: he either doesn't know what he is talking about or Mr. Turner failed to disclose the condition of the motor to him. We still have Mr. Turner's engine block should anyone reading these reviews decide they want to see it. Concerning the rear main seal leak that Mr. Turner is claiming in his review, the correct way of handling this issue is to contact the business with his claim, have his claim confirmed and give the business the opportunity to do the repairs before posting a bad review about the business. We have tried to contact Mr. Turner about the rear main seal leak and he doesn't answer his phone. Finally, E G Motors would like to note that it prides itself in the quality of its work and its customer service. That is why we have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We will always stand behind our work and have done so in the case of Mr. Turner.
Mr. Robert Turner hired us in January 2013 to replace a blown out moto... read more Mr. Robert Turner hired us in January 2013 to replace a blown out motor in his 1994 Toyota 4Runner. The damage found to his engine was so visible that you could see it from either front side fender wells before we removed the engine from the engine compartment. On the Passenger side of the engine block there was a hole the size of your fist. On the driver's side of the engine block a whole corner was broken off and only connected to the transmission bell housing with one bolt and the transmission bell housing was cracked. It was determined that all of this damage was caused by the engine blowout. The engine looked like someone had thrown a grenade inside of it and crankshaft was broken into three pieces. Because the engine block was so severely damaged and could not be salvaged for a rebuild, Mr. Turner had to pay the $300.00 core charge in accordance with our written core charge policy. As for the Transmission bell housing damage; Mr. Turner was given the option of getting a new one or to have his current one welded, A new OEM transmission bell housing from Toyota is about-$700.00 and the weld cost $60.00. Mr. Turner decided to go the cheap route and requested that the transmission bell housing be welded. The only other extra parts that had to be replaced were the radiator and the radiator fan shroud since Mr. Turner's radiator was plugged and he had no radiator fan shroud. Mr. Turner came back about a month later with a check engine light and a false temperature gauge reading. We found the wire harness connection to the coolant temperature sensor was brittle and he had a bad oxygen sensor. He okayed the repairs. We fixed the coolant temperature sensor connection and replaced the oxygen sensor. We called Mr. Turner to notify him that his vehicle was ready for pickup and he told us that due to a bad review he had found online about us that he wouldn't pay for the oxygen sensor replacement-($86.61).
