Just bought a van (Feb. 13, 2014) and was told only needed a strut mount. Took it in and mechanic said needed new struts and bushing. Ok, bought it cause guy dropped it down $500 - basically the cost of the repair. So as I am driving home with the car it starts making a weird whining sound. I call a guy and take it in immediately - he says it is the power steering - they over filled the reserve, which means something is wrong with the power steering - says it will cost at least $150 to fix. I call S&S and he acts like he has no idea what I am talking about, when I say power steering was overfilled again he has no idea and claims he didn't do it. Not true! Refusing to do anything. He knew we were buying with income tax money and we have 6 small children. He sold a death trap. NEVER BUY FROM THIS GUY - WILL RIP YOU OFF ANYWAY HE CAN! had to give 1 star or wouldn't let me post.

Took my car in for overheating issue that turned out to be my thermostat housing(plastic piece). as well as dead battery. Was charged around 800 dollars for the repair(60 of which is coolant in which if youve ever purchased a gallon of coolant for 15.99 is laughable). Upon picking up my vehicle noticed they let the power steering run completely dry, to the point my wheel would not turn (they had to have had a difficult time just to get it parked). Upon inquiring about the issue they stated that since they put in my tech notes my rack and pinion was leaking (cause of low power steering) and since I didn't repair the 1000+ dollar fix to repair my rack and pinion they decided I also didn't deserve a top off of powered steering fluid even though I had brought it in well aware of the leak making sure it was full before hand. Then after driving around for about an hour noticed that my security system had been set off which would cause my horn to randomly go off blazingly loud constantly (I have NEVER had any issues of this prior). When inquired about I was first told I had a faulty aftermarket security system, I then left because they told me essentially they were going to recharge me now to take this system out as well as retest the battery (which makes no sense to retest the battery as it was already core charged and tested previous to the repair) after stating I was unhappy with the body of work to begin with and I was not gonna give them any more money , I left. I then parked at my house in which my horn began blaring again I took it straight back to the repair shop still honking over a 5 minute drive (embarrassing me in front of the entire town) I was told after he messed with cords in my car that it was actually a short circuit that he would have to pull apart my steering wheel fixture to fix. Overall TERRIBLE effort as well as body of work. They had my vehicle over a month and you can very clearly tell they spent all of a couple hours the day before they repaired my car . Will say the owner was willing to hold a conversation and hear my frustration but at the end of the day the owner is on the floor and allows poor and shotty work to come out of his garage and then will defend it on the back end. When people are paying large sums of money for a bad service this is completely inexcusable. I would have my car towed 100 miles before I ever allowed Hancock repair to touch my vehicle again. 0/10.

I had the oil changed in my car on approximately February 14, 2014 at this establishment. Normally I would change the oil myself but on this day it was cold out so I took it to them because I don't have a garage, the price was reasonable and the oil change was past due. The next oil change performed on this vehicle was by me. Granted it was about two weeks shy of actually needing to be done but I noticed spots of oil on my driveway. I got under my car to see where the leak was coming from. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed at what I found. Now I do admit that I'm not a mechanic by trade but I do know a few things about vehicles. Credit going to my father and past experience with having to do minor and major repairs myself. For example. When you go to put a brand new oil filter on it should be put on and tighten the oil filter by hand. The rubber gasket makes contact with the metal then you should turn it 3/4-1 complete turn to insure a proper seal. YOU SHOULD NEVER USE AN OIL FILTER WRENCH OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF TOOL TO TIGHTEN THE OIL FILTER BECAUSE THIS COILD DAMAGE THE OUTER BODY OF THE OIL FITER THEREFORE CAUSING IT TO LEAK. Even I know this and I don't get paid to perform this service. They damaged the outer body of the oil filter putting and crease in it which caused the oil leak. Plus I have an oil wrench that I've had for quite a while and it still took about 15 minutes to get that oil filter off and I damn near destroyed it getting it off. I will NEVER take any vehicle I or my wife owns to them for even so much as to change out a windshield wiper. They might use a sledge hammer for that job. Get a mech. that knows what he's doing.
