On 12/29/2023 I took my 2018 Jeep Renegade to Plaza Tire in Metropolis, Illinois to have the right rear time repaired as it had a nail in it. After the employee removed the tire, he got me from the waiting area, pointed to the brake caliper and told me my brake pads were in need of immediate replacement to avoid damage to the brake rotors. I initially told him to proceed with the repair and he quoted me a price of around $169, but when I found out the parts would have to be sent over from Paducah, Kentucky I remembered I had to take my wife to an appointment later that day and would have to bring my vehicle back another day. The employee agreed and cautioned me not to wait too long to prevent further damage to the brakes. A few days later I decided I am perfectly capable of replacing brake pads as I have been a mechanic myself for most of my life. I purchased a set of new brake pads from a parts store in Paducah and proceeded to perform the repair on 1/6/2023. When I removed the brake calipers and pads, I immediately realized there was no need to replace the pads as they are barely worn and have many thousands of miles of life remaining. I also realized I was nearly ripped off by the Plaza Tire employee, and would have been had I not postponed the brake service. I took photos of the brake pads and showed them to my daughter as a witness I am a 77 year old veteran, and it really angers me to think I was nearly scammed by a local business. Rest assured I will NEVER patronize that business again and will share my story with everyone I know. They did repair the flat as I had road hazard insurance on the tires, but they did not properly inflate the other tires so I drove around with the low-pressure warning on until I got home and properly inflated all the tires. The wrong oil filter was installed and over full on oil. They came to my house and installed the correct oil filter. Took back the next day to get oil level corrected and it was over full again. I purchased the oil and filter myself and done it at home.

Went in for a low tire indicator in my dash. My vehicle does not indicate which one. I check the pressure before I went. Rear driver tire that was new and had been replaced by Plaza Tire was the lowest, so I had to assume it was the culprit. As I checked in, I ask if they had 2 more tires in stock like the rear tires that I recently replaced that I could replace the front ones now. I could only afford the 2 rear ones earlier. The guys behind the counter said he had NO RECORD of Plaza replacing any tires form me on this vehicle. FYI, I have receipt. OK no biggy, clerical error. They proceeded to get vehicle in. Tech came out a few minutes later and told me he checked the ONE tire and no leak. I said OK, i was guessing on which tire was making indicator come on. He proceeded to tell me he put air in all the tires and left, pulled my vehicle up front and they called me to check out. NO letting me know if they had an additional tire in stock to match the back tires, NO checking the older tire for leaks. Just pay for the services today and leave. The two guys up front were VERY much NON-CUSTOMER service minded. OH, and BTW, I pulled into a different location for an oil change, and they told me it would be a 2+ hour wait. pretty much done with Plaza Tire. I'll take my business elsewhere that apricates it.

As a female, I don't typically know how to resolve an issue with my vehicle other than to take it to a professional. So when my car started having issues overheating I took it to Norman's Radiator at the suggestion of my husband who had dealt with them previously. I was given a quote of ~$450 to "completely resolve my issue". I agreed and they commenced with the repair that included patching a crack in the radiator and a standard flush and refill. Less than three days later, I started having the exact same issue again. I took my vehicle back to the technician at Norman's Radiator who then told me that it looked like my water pump is what was actually causing my car to leak, and to fix the problem, it would cost me ~$175. So not only did this technician fail to "completely resolve my issue", it seems that he charged me a significant amount of money unnecessarily. After consulting a local mechanic who came into my workplace, he made me very aware of the wrong that was done to me and who knows how many other unsuspecting individuals. I'm sure there is an honest mechanic in the Cape Girardeau area, I just hope this article helps you to continue your search beyond Norman's Radiator.

I called and spoke with Jerry at Hucks Auto Sales Inc @ 1803 North Kingshiway Cape Girardeau MO 63701 He only had his cell phone number 573-576-3000 listed instead of the business number. I asked about a 2003 Lincoln Town car he had advertised on the St Louis Craigslist. I asked him about the paint and body condition and he said there was a small dent in rear side of car I said I understand and then I asked about the interior and if there was any sign it had been smoked in?? He said no its immaculate! I asked many questions...as I am a car guy and I'm very sharp with cars. I was looking at purchasing the car for a friend of my wife's since she doesn't know much about cars. We drove 1 and half hours to get there from St Louis County. We walked in the office and Jerry said the car is unlocked please go check it out. I am a very reasonable person and God is my witness!!! The car had damage all over it I mean the back bumper was cracked in 3 places and was ready to fall off!! The paint was scratched up and looked like it was worn out and some spots of rust! I would estimate the body work and paint would cost at least $3000 to be repaired! Now for the bad part... The entire interior had cigarette burn holes all over the seats, headliner and carpet!! The interior was cracked badly and had the smell of cigarettes and air freshener. To say Jerry is a complete Liar and time waster is being nice!! Do yourself a big favor and dont waste your time going to Hucks Auto Sales because you will be wasting your time as I did because Jerry cant tell the truth! He was the typical used car dealer you see in the movies. Not Joking!!
