My experience here was awful. I really think I deserve my 70.00 exam back! They gave me two estimates, one for complete muffler replacement for over 1,600 one for over 500.00. I declined the work for second opinion. I’m so glad I did! Muffler Man in Clio inspected my car for free found one part needed, replaced it right then, and here’s the kicker, it cost me 230.00!

Above and Beyond! A friend at work told me about Tuffy. I was having a problem with my car and was upset about taking it back to the dealership. She ask me why would I pay those high prices. Well I will put it like this. Never go back to the dealership. Tuffy Auto Repair in East Lansing saved me about $200. Don't make the same mistake I did. Took my car for front end repair. Days after dropping it off I called to get the status. It was clear nobody had looked at the vehicle. Every time I called, stories were conflicting. I agreed to the most outrageous price , with the request not to use garbage chinese parts. They did just that. The parts charge of the bill was $800. Me pricing the same parts in the very best brands came to $350. The total bill for 2 control arm and a alignment that was never done was $1600 with the 10% discount right under the bible verse on my invoice. I didn't get a alignment printout, which is mandatory by law, because it was never done. I had to pay another shop to do that. People who hide behind christianity for financial gain, aren't christian at all. They are in fact, the exact opposite. My expectations are very much within reason, as several other mechanics agreed. I am not vindictive and I stand to gain nothing. My only purpose is to protect the next decent person who might fall victim.

I know several people who have bought cars from kevin and they all highly recommended him. i knew the car i wanted but could not find it anywhere. i went a talked to kevin and told hime what i wanted and that i could not find any even online within 100 miles. well he went to work and found me exactly what i was looking for, exact color and everything and at a far better price then i could have imagined. You sent an email for repairs on a Jeep 4x4, we have never have or had a Jeep vehicle You better check you records We have have had our vehicles repaired at your garage for YEARS and you send us repair notice for a vehicle we have never had owned EVER. No wonder we have not had any repair work done at your business recently. You will probably just brush this off but we are greatly disappointed. The Staffords

The sales guys were very nice, quite likable at the start. I thought I was going to have a good experience. I really hoped I would, because I liked the vehicle I was interested in. But I kept flip-flopping back and forth between feelings of "this place feels slimy" and "this place is alright." SLIMY: Car kept stalling during test drive. No codes. Just kept stalling. ALRIGHT: They apologized, stating they just got the car in the night before didn't know much about it yet. SLIMY: I asked them about trading in my car, and they gave me a low-ball offer. $500 behind the other dealerships. Their pricing was very high for such an older, high-mileage car. ALRIGHT: They said I could take it to my mechanic. SLIMY: The one guy left for a moment to "tell his boss to go look at my car," and then as soon as he came in, he magically got a call from "someone interested in my car," and started talking to this so-called customer on the phone in front of me at his desk. I started laughing. Total BS. ALRIGHT: Said he was willing to work w/the price if my mechanic found any issues. SLIMY: As soon as my mechanic lifted it up and started checking things....PIECES STARTED FALLING OFF THE CAR. My mechanic started pointing out the half-@$$ "fixes" that were done on this car to cover crap up. Bent valves (looks like the previous timing belt had blown), missing cotter pins on newly replaced tie rod ends, totally rusted out suspension and steering parts everywhere, very off-balance tires (some wheels had too many weights, some didn't have any!). Basically, within a matter of months, I'd have spent nearly $3000-4000 more in parts just to keep it together. So there were two options: either they were totally fine not knowing the true quality of their car, or they knew and were totally fine letting me drive away in it. ALRIGHT: He was very apologetic, and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and trusting that he didn't know what all was wrong with it (said it was a repo they got at an auction). SUMMARY: I really wanted to have a good experience here. And for a few times, I thought I was. I think if the car were good to begin with, the experience would have been much better. But their annoying novice sales tactics, and willingness to send me off in a death-trap made me never want their business. IN CONCLUSION: If you go there, get a trusted mechanic to look at the car you want before you buy it. Don't trust theirs.
