Auto repair service near Shelocta, PA

I found this place on Google while looking for a reputable mechanic to bring my car to, as the last 3 places I had tried had given me incorrect diagnosises and tried to over charge me. Long story short, I will never use another mechanic. If there is one word that describes this place best, it's HONEST. The whole staff, from the tow truck driver to the owner, are kind and helpful. I gladly make the 45 minute drive anytime I need anything and have never been disappointed with their work. 5 Stars. you wont be disappointed! -Caytlin Shermenti

$5500 later, was told vehicle was ready for pick up. Made it a few miles, then broke down again. Called several times for help, and was hung up on twice. Our evil......run the opposite direction!

If you want to pay more for a car that was wrecked & halfways repaired for more than what it is worth this is the place for you. His wife said she would lower the price of the car I bought if I paid in cash so that they wouldn't have to pay as much in business taxes. Then when I came back with cash and they "totaled" it up it came to much more than agreed upon. Then after a few months started having problems so I took it back to get fixed....he made temporary repairs to damaged parts from other junk cars & it keeps breaking down he even repaired parts with duct tape. Not to mention the smell of beer on their breath at the place of business & the half smoked roach sitting on the desk. I mean please get it together. I will never return. The 50 year old bald guy w/ big glasses there is rather pervy & creepy when discussing the car made random remarks not pertaining to the service of my car but the service of me. I'd go without a car before returning there.

I am a single mother with very little time or money and decided it was time to try and buy a new vehicle. I went to nick chevrolet because they were local and thought I would give them my business. I went there and took my car in for a trade. They only gave me $2500 for my trade and it was about $2000 less than nada was. So I figured I would do the deal as long as I was going to get the new vehicle at a good price. It ends up that once they sold me all the extra warranties and everything else they wanted me to buy, i had to take my whole savings of $7600 and give as a down payment. Once I drove the vehicle home and after around 300 miles the transmission started slipping and making all kinds of noises so I decided to take it back over to them. Once there, I dropped it off and they put it in for service. They called me and said that something inside the transmission had broke and caused the gears inside to get all busted up. I picked the vehicle back up once they called and said it was ready. Once I had it for about 2 days the same thing is still happening. I went back over to tell them, and they told me that this is the way it is supposed to be. Unfortunately they have been lying to me about it. I have been over there at least 5 times to see if they could do something about it to make it right, but they refuse to make it right, and keep giving me the run around.. I now have an attorney to help me at an additional expense and time which I do not have. This dealership does not care once they have the money. I have now contacted the news station as like I said before that I am a single mother just trying to work and survive with the times being very tough like they are. I would certainly go to another dealership as this one just plain sucks....

2-9-12: Hi, I am one of your steady customers: I was very aggravated this morning at 5:30am when I walked in a New kensington A Plus store to get a coffee on the way to work. To find a casual just hanging out in the store (it was totally obvious he wasn't there to buy anything).He was there to entertain the young man that was working the register, who happened to be scratching his own game ticket when I walked in,And while he's busy scratching his ticket, his friend is dancing and mumbling to himself;Meanwhile all the coffee pots are empty except one and there is a line of customers waiting patiently for the young cashier to notice that they're are there. This happens alot in my New kensington at midnight,especially at A Plus and Fueland stores, its something I'm getting sick and if it keeps up, I guess I won't be stopping to get coffee in my own neighborhood at 5:30 in the morning. I had been told to seek out Jimmy Celani and His Brother Joe at J and J Used Car Center for a quality detail. Of Course, nearly everyone who refers you to anyone says that "their guy is the best" and all to often they aren't. I was hoping for a good job on my Dodge Ram Crew Cab, because it was in need of an extreme detail. I was considering trading it in so I wanted to get it looking good. Instead what was given to me when I came to pick it up, could not have been my truck! Really, it looked as if it was nearly new. The job they did was so good that it actually appears as though it was cared for by an obsessive owner instead of me and the car wash. I mean every piece of metal shines! Under the hood, in the door jams and hinges, the tail gate, the rear panel, under the fender wells of the rear wheels. The interior carpets are clean and spot free, the seats are soft and shiny without the use of armor all and the dash is new again. I never write reviews, even on bad service but these guys really truly deserve a huge thank you and a two thumbs up! I am not joking, the truck has returned to life inside and out and I have decided that I am NOT trading it because I didn't know that there is this much life left in it. Thank you Jimmy and Joe! You saved me money.

I got my front breaks changed here. When I got my car back the steering wheel started shaking. It got to the point where I found the vehicle unsafe to drive. I did some research online and found that can be caused by loose lug nuts. Sure enough, I checked the lug nuts on the driver's side tire. Three out of the five I took off with my hand. They were never torqued. The tire could've come off on the freeway and then I might not be here to leave this review. I called meineke up and told them what I found. The man on the phone was totally unhelpful. First, he tried to assure me that they took my car for a test drive. Then he kept asking me what I wanted him to do about it. He didn't offer any sort of refund, or offer to speak to the mechanic about the oversight. He did offer to tighten my lug nuts if I drove my vehicle down to them (not safe). The conversation ended with him saying "What do you want me to do about it?" and I told him that I was going to leave a negative review online because people should know about this. It was then that he hung up on me. My voice wasn't raised. I was direct but still respectful. I've never been hung up on by a professional. I contacted corporate. They got in touch with the owner who offered to torque my lug nuts and teach me how to use some lug nut torque tool. I torqued the lug nuts correctly, it was their mechanic that forgot to torque them.
