A trained technician will check the level and condition of your transmission fluid: •A low fluid level may indicate a leak •Contaminated fluid has water or particles in the fluid. •Burnt fluid indicates damage from overheating. •Varnished fluid has been overheated repeatedly. •Normal fluid is reddish-brown and translucent, depending on transmission type, with no particular odor. As an example of their honesty, there was one type of repair that, for the type of car I have, is apparently best done by the dealership, and they told me that up front, rather than just doing the repair themselves without telling me and leaving me with the chance that the car may not work as it should. They have never been pushy and they help me prioritize what needs to be done and what can wait. They have sometimes gone out of their way to help me. The friendliness and reliability with which I'm treated here makes this Napa shop a valuable part of my sense of community here in Hollywood. ok, well, i just suddenly appeared at the shop, because my car had trouble starting. being a dummy, i thought it was my battery, but, when i explained the attempts and the clicking, he knew the exact problem. i can always trust the guys at the shop. i have an old car, and they have been doing the upkeep for years now. it is a toyota truck, so it is priceless to me, and they always fix it with a smile! heros!

For the last 3 times I have taken the car in for something big, it has always needed something more the next day. The limited hours (no nights or weekends) make finding a time for service difficult. Gary et.al. are accommodating about giving me a ride if the job requires several hours which I appreciate, but it is hard to get the shop to make repairs if I can't get the car in early on a weekday morn. appreciate car being washed after being worked on.
