After getting a $3,200 quote for my brake system to be replaced at a local dealership, Randy told me what the ACTUAL problem was... my brake fluid was low because my front brake pads needed to be replaced. What was originally going to be a $3200 repair ended up being a $300 fix. I cannot thank Randy and his team enough for the honest work that they do. I think that we have purchased more than a dozen vehicles over the years between myself and my family. Extremely trustworthy used car dealership. The only place we go for used cars. It began well. Staff was personable, location clean and well kept. My second visit to Torello as I was pleased with my initial tire rotation and oil change service. Skip ahead a few months and I bring in my truck which has a leak from the transmission fluid cooling lines. After diagnostic, I get a call with a quote for dealer parts and labor to replace which is high at $1200. I check with my brother who has been a mechanic for 40+ years and he looks up the parts and they come to less than 200. I call back and speak with Mike and he tells me he quoted dealer parts. I explain that truck is a 2009 with 276K miles and there’s no real need for dealer parts and he tells me he can save me a couple of hundred dollars by going aftermarket. I authorize the work based on that discussion. I get a voicemail 5 days later telling me the truck is done and when I call back, the cost is $1650. One of the cooler lines was frozen to the cooler and they ordered the part and installed it without informing me first, so I have little say in the matter at this point. Tell him I will pick up the truck that same day. Their website and signs on the front door give 5 PM as closing time so I have time to pick it up after work. I arrive at 4:30 and my truck is nowhere to be seen and the doors are locked. I knock as I see someone inside and ask if they are closed and I get a nod before they turn around and go back to whatever they were doing. Now I have to take the next morning off from work so I can pick up my truck now that I know when they really close and that I cannot make it in time after work. The next day when I pick up the truck I see that the pricing still reflects dealer pricing to the tune of $750 vs the original $400 quoted for dealer parts (even though we agreed on aftermarket) Mike’s not there and Ashley can’t answer any questions. I pay the $1650, She hands me the key and says the truck should be on the side somewhere. Turns out, it’s blocked in by other vehicles in the fenced in area. Ultimately they pull it out and I leave. I’m pretty livid at this point and I look up the dealer parts and my cost online and find that I could have purchased them all OE for just over $400. So they almost doubled in cost. As if that weren’t bad enough, I go and look at the labels on the parts they actually installed and they are aftermarket. To sum up, they were friendly enough, but ultimately not straight with me about anything but the cost of labor.

Autotech of Danbury is the best place to get work done on your automobile. I found them when I ordered snow tires earlier and sent them to a local recommended business to mount; their service and manner was excellent and when I mentioned them to a friend from here, she said oh! We've always gone there. I just now had to switch out my snow tires for new regular ones; George spent a great deal of his time helping me understand what I needed and searching for the best prices. They're fast and efficient. Working with George, Annie and their staff is easy. This is now my number one automobile place!

Very good attention to detail. Price is more then reasonable and not shady like other places..you won't bring ur vehicle here and hear you have all kinds of things wrong unless they really are

My family has been going to Rick for about twenty years. He's the best. Rick is a great mechanic who only does the work you need at a fair price. Plus, he gets the work done in a timely manner.

These guys, own their work. Had done break job at Sears and i would have to go back every year to get the brakes fixed. A friend recommended their place and I got it done through General muffler and auto. Its been 3 years, no issues. I give them all my business. Good workshops are hard to find.

Went in for an emission test this morning and was greeted with a very professional receptionist and service person. My car was done within 20 minutes. Thank you for taking me so quickly!

I brought my car into Midas, S Main st Torrington CT on July 25th 2022 to have a new differential ring and pinion installed. The car was promised to me for July 26, 2022. Midas kept delaying and putting of the performing of the job for a full 2 1/2 weeks. I had to purchase the tool for the mechanic to perform the job. When I pick up the car on Thursday August 11th 2022, I leave the parking lot with the car and almost immediately here and abnormal sounding whining or grinding in the rear end. I turn around grab another mechanic who is still there and hadn't gone home yet and took him for a test drive and let him listen to the noise. he assured me the noise is normal and is a break in noise that will go away after 100 or so miles. 150 miles later, the noise is still there and other people who are mechanics NOT with Midas tell me the differential should not make ANY noise at all if the job is properly performed. In short, I had to wait 2 1/2 weeks for a job that was promised to be a one or two day job. The job was performed poorly and there may be damage to my car. Mida grossly overcharged me a price of $850 for a job that is listed as a 5 hour job on the books.

Rose and Dimitri are honest, reliable and hard-working. I've been taking my car there for years and always come away with the feeling that someone "has my back" when it comes to my car. Thank you both and I will continue to come see you for great service, a smile or two and Oreo cookies!
