Where do I even start. On Tuesday August 2nd we rented scooters fromCalifornia Cycles, owned by Colleen Swab. Upon renting we paid 12$ for insurance which it states on the contract. We also paid 100$ on our credit card. The shirtless, cigarette smoking employee performed a hand written report, listing dents, cracks, scratches etc, he then asked for my initials on the form. I mentioned as I was initialing that all of the visible damage on the Derbi was not written on the form. I then pointed out scratches and damaged parts to the employee, He stated, "Those arent a big deal, we just need to record major damages." Upon returning the scooter, we were billed $872.46 for damages that were ALREADY on the bike, some which were recorded! I pointed out that the scratch in question was on the damage report listed as "scratch under mirror" The employee, still shirtless with a cigarette bouncing up and down in his mouth while he spoke to me, stated that the damage was fresh and there was really nothing I could do about it. I asked to speak to the manager, then the general manager. The general manager was came to the store and was incredibly rude. However he did manage to get my bill down to $382.46 which was billed to my credit card without permission. I planned on disputing the extra charges billed to my account and asked for the damage report that I initialed earlier that day. He stated that I would have to speak with the owner Colleen Swab and that she wouldnt be there until the morning. I returned to the store at opening time. Of course Colleen was not there. I was told she would be in at 11. I returned to my hotel and called every half hour to attempt to speak with Colleen. At 3:30 she answered the phone, although my phone conversation lasted less than two minutes it was shockinly rude and showed me what trash this company is. On the telephone I began to tell Colleen the issue with her employee and the falsifications made on the rental damage. She quickly asked me "Wha

I will preface this by saying I am not some drunken, hell raising kid down here on spring break. I'm a 31 year old professional with a graduate degree, and I am a former auto claims adjuster, which is relevant to this review. I've been riding motorcycles since I was twelve, and I have a bike of my own that I ride more than 15,000 miles per year. I know what I am talking about. Recently, I had the misfortune of renting a Fatboy from California Cycles in Panama City Beach, Florida. I'm on vacation, and I thought it might be fun to rent a bike and go and take a look around the area. I picked the wrong place. They had a lot of scooters that you see around here and a few large cruisers. I rented a Harley Fatboy at the rate of $150.00 for eight hours. Clearly, this is a lot, but I've been thinking about getting a bigger bike, so it seemed like a good way to get an extensive test ride. It had 41,000 miles on it, and it had several dents and dings but nothing glaringly obvious. They store these things outside, so it was pretty dirty. However, I figured any bike down here isn't going to be perfect. The guy who checked me out seemed pretty cool, and we talked about bikes for a minute or two before I took off. I spent the afternoon riding up and down the coast and having a good time. However, when I took it back, another guy took in my invoice. He told me there was damage on the front that wasn't there when he washed it the night before. Again, as dirty as this thing was, there is no way it had been washed in the past week. He then asked me what I had hit that would cause such a great damage to the front end of the bike. At first, I thought this hyperbole was some kind of joke. This was a small knick that didn't cover the width of a dime. It looked like it was caused by some small rock or other road debris. There was also some obvious weathering on the area, indicating that it had taken place some time ago. I told him I hadn't hit anything. He then brou
