I have been taking my cars to Pedro for a couple of years now, and I estimate he has saved me hundreds of dollars on car repairs. When other shops inflated their quotes to thousands of dollars, I have been able to take the car to Pedro and get a fair estimate. He does good work, and I have always got my car back the same day. Take it to Pedro and you will be happy you did.

I will NEVER go anywhere else for a mechanic from now on. These guys are hard-working, fast, family-owned, extraordinarily friendly, and most importantly honest. They do a great job at a fair price. My Rav4 needed an alternator/belt and google recommended D T's Garage Auto Repair to me. I called Friday morning and they said come on in. This was after another mechanic in Tallahassee did not return my calls and was overpriced as well. After I got there, they went over it and showing me the old belt and alternator, then they fixed my vehicle quickly as I waited. The mechanic checked the vehicle from front to back and I was treated like I mattered. I also asked them about some other problems and they did not charge me for anything extra. Most places try to sell extras or add-ons but they did not try to sell anything that I did not need. These guys understand customers and how to manage a local mechanic shop! All around trusting, good-natured team! I’ll never take my car anywhere else as long as I am in Tallahassee. Thank you!

Tire Town and Muffler

I brought my car into to have an oil leak diagnosed, and replace a faulty oil pan. They replaced the gasket and oil pan and I provided the parts. It was still leaking so I returned it several times over the next few months and they tightened the bolts, and another time they replaced the gasket and pan again with my supplied parts. Then they convinced me that the Rear Main seal was the partial cause of the oil leaks also, and they charged me to replace the Rear Main and suggested that the crank shaft probably had a groove formed under the seal and that a product called a Repair Sleeve would be needed. I purchased the parts and they did the work. When they started up the car the oil leave from the rear main was pouring out!! They had put the repair sleeve in improperly, so I had to go and purchase another one. I showed them the manufactures procedures for installing the sleeve, and the owners father got mad at me and told me to get the hell out and not to tell them how to do their job! They did not follow the manufacturer procedure for repair and it still leaks a small amount. When I returned to pick up the car to guarantee that it was not leaking, due to this being about the 4th time I had to return, the owner Dave REFUSED to let me inspect the car and demanded only cash, no check, no credit card, then he told me that the work would NOT be guaranteed either and took the keys hostage. I reluctantly paid the bill and drove a few blocks and inspected the underneath and found that it was still leaking!!! I immediately took the car to Der Meister auto repair who inspected the car for free ,and we filmed the condition underneath. It had 5 oil pan nuts that were loose and leaking. Der Meister tightened up the nuts to spec and two wouldnt tighten at all because they were tight as could be. When I drove off I also found that the car wouldnt shift gears when it was running! They had let air into the clutch lines when the installed the Clutch while they did the rear main. I called them the next day as it was after 5pm now, and they told me to drive it to their shop and they would look at it!! Seriously! Drive it there! To have these idiots work on it again!? I had paid Tire Town and Muffler to stop the oil pan leaks, and apparently they wouldnt guarantee the Repair Sleeve work. The oil pan was still leaking. And they refused to fix it. I had Honda Dealership inspect and they determined that the oil pan was leaking and removed the lock washers that Tire Town and Muffler had put on the pan, and this appeared to stop the leak. Upon inspection the gasket was torn in several places , in the exact locations of the leaking nuts observed prior when Der Meister looked at it. Tire town refused to reimburse me for charging me and the repair not being completed, and them refusing to work on the car further. These people are scum. Do not take your car there!! They lied about what had happened, were not capable of changing an oil pan and gasket, nor putting on a repair sleeve properly. I told me that I would have to sue them to get the money back!! Even after I showed them the damaged oil pan gasket, they claimed that someone damaged it after I left them. However it was leaking immediately after I left them and gasket was damaged in the exact places of the leaks!! They will be super nice at the counter to get your work then they are jerks later.

I recently had a new power steering pump and hose install in my car by Adams street service center. After my car is service, with in the first twenty minutes My brand new power steering hose pops. I instantly took my car back to get re-service. They install a new my hose in my car, however, the owner tried to charge me for the re-installation. In addition, the mishap of the hose affected my power steering pump. My pump started making this loud whining noise after they install the second new hose in my car. The store in which I purchased the vehicle from exchange said they would exchange my new pump for the old pump inform Adams service center of the news and they basely told me that they would have to charge me for the labor of taking damage the pump out and installing the new pump. So basely they still wanted to charge me for the labor of re-installing the new pump, after their mess up. I strongly recommend you to stay away from this shop. After this encounter with Adams street service center, I spoke with four different people that inform me that they had bad experience with them as well. I give Adams street service center a rating of negative five.

Do not use Tallahassee Auto Clinic especially if you’re a college parent and you can’t be there with the vehicle. Recently my daughters Jeep Commander has been losing anti-freeze, with no visible signs. I was at a loss because the water pump, hoses and radiator cap were all less than six months old. I had my daughter drop the Jeep off at Tallassee Auto Clinic; they’re the ones who replaced the hoses. When I telephoned to inquire about the status of the vehicle I was informed the water pump was bad, additionally I was informed the brakes, air-filter and a serpentine belt all needed replacing. I knew the water pump should be under warranty and I just replaced the air-filter two months ago. I contacted the local mechanic (Steve Johnson Automotive) in Fernandina Beach, Florida who replaced the water pump. He advised I should locate a mechanic in the Napa Car Care Center Network, in Tallahassee. After paying $129.90 for a diagnostic test and anti-freeze the Jeep was then taken to American Transmission and Auto, who were able to diagnose the problem. Which was Tallahassee Auto Clinic failed to fully tighten the lower radiator hose explaining the missing anti-freeze. I was charged nothing by American Transmission and Auto, who will be our go to mechanic from now on. Tallahassee Auto Clinic also failed to replace to the Intake Tube which connects the air-filter box to the intake manifold, before allowing our daughter to remove the vehicle from the shop. I contacted Tallahassee Auto Clinic and spoke with Amber I expressed my dissatisfaction with their business and explained I felt I was due compensation $129.90 for the inaccurate diagnostic test. I informed Amber I would allow time for the manager to contact me, after six hours I never received a phone call with a compensation offer or an apology. In my opinion Tallahassee Auto Clinic is in the business of ripping off the parents of college kids.

Mechanics don't know what their doing! My son took his car here due to a noise in the rear. He was told the wheel bearings were making noise. He picked up his car, crossed town and the noise was back.... He took it back and they tried telling him it was now the timing belt that was the problem. Luckily he read their BS and left. Took it to another mechanic and the PROBLEM was the DRIVESHAFT U JOINTS!!!!!! Any 1st year auto technician should have been able to know what the problem was by just listening to the noise!!! Spoke to the manager, this was a $500.00 error that they refused to fix. They took total advantage of a poor College kid!

Pep Boys

Went to Pepboys today to get four 10ply tires for my dodge 1500, after pricing several places pepboys appeared to be the best deal at $569.04. It turns out I could not have possibly been more wrong. The manager; Mike, gave me a quote of $569.04 (without giving me details about what that included), and said I would get a free brake inspection, alignment check, and that a free warranty came with the tires. All great news! He said it would take at MOST an hour and a half. I decided to hang out and watch the work being done. A young kid I believe named Karlo began the work. It took him twenty minutes to remove the first tire, and additional ten to twenty minutes to try and get the rim removed with the automatic machine. Finally he called over another attendant to help him get it removed. Then he began texting. I was getting frustrated at this point, since it had been nearly fourty-five minutes since the process began and he only had ONE tire removed. Another twenty minutes later he had put the new tire on the rim and loaded it onto the truck... only then did he realize he FORGOT to put pieces back on the rim. At this point I was LIVID and called over Manager Mike, I asked him if Karlo had done this kind of work before. Manager Mike said "He just hasn't used this equipment." I said "So he's never done this work before?" Manager Mike said "No, not on this equipment." I said "What the hell, why did you give me a newbie? I don't want him working on my truck anymore." Manager Mike said "I'll go help him in a moment." Several minutes later, he emerged from the back room with a bowl of cereal, munching away as he leisurely strolled over to where Karlo was STILL struggling to get the first wheel mounted right. Manager Mike continued eating and did not help Karlo at ALL, instead he watched him struggle to get the second wheel off. I stood there staring in horror at the situation, finally after about five minutes, Manager Mike realized I was watching and put down the cereal and began helping. When he walked back into the office, I told him again that Karlo should NOT be touching my car, I wanted SOMEONE ELSE to finish the work. FINALLY, another mechanic came over and began popping the tires off, and replacing them. It took him only twenty minutes, what took Karlo nearly two hours. Even with as quickly as the new man worked, I was still there nearly three hours. Finally when the truck was finished Manager Mike came back in. I told him that this was the WORST Pepboys experience I had ever had, and that although he had been nice to me it was clear that Karlo had no idea what he was doing and had no business working on a truck when he didn't know the equipment. Secondly I told Manager Mike that he was badly representing his company, as the way I was treated... a young woman with a truck... made it seem that his company put the 'newbie' on the woman's truck because it 'didn't matter'. Manager Mike said; 'It's alright!' When I get in the car, already angry that Manager Mike did not even offer me an APOLOGY much less a discount off my purchase... did I realize that I got charged for a $57.12 warrant that he told me was FREE. Not only that but I was charged for wheel balancing... how was that not part of the package? He said everything was included. If I had known the warranty was extra I would have never purchased it. Needless to say, a HORRENDOUS experience, I will NEVER be supporting Pepboys again as a customer AND as a woman. I urge other potential customers to stop and think before you patronize their store.

Horrible Horrible. I took my Honda there on 04-02-2011 because the brake light came on. Tom was my service advisor. They told me that the problem was the brake master cylinder failed ($345.00), which I had just changed one year before. I took my car to the local Honda dealer for a second opinion. The certified Honda technician said the only problem was that the brake fluid cap had a leak and costs only $45.00 to replace. The worse part is that my AC was working fine until I brought my car to tires plus, then, it wasn't cooling any more. I called them and they said I had to pay them to have it looked at again. Again, stay out of that tires plus. They either don't know what they're doing or they try to rip people off.

They sprayed so-called "Windex" on te distributor cap, told me it was a bad cap, showed me a spark, and charges $90.00 for the "diagnosis. ' After replacing the cap, I found the miss was inchanged. Three weeks later i learned it was a problem with the computer. The cap had nothing to do with it. I looked at the old cap recently and it IS STILL MOIST - like it waws covered with salt or another dessicant. I think they sprayed something other than Windex. Don't waste your money with that con.

Thank you!
