About Jason's Bug Ranch
As a boy, Jason's favorite toy was a screwdriver. He would take his toys apart to figure out how they worked and see if he could improve the operation or performance of his Christmas presents. His Mom was frustrated. As he became a teenager, he was building go-carts and assembling dirt bikes he had bought in a large cardboard box. His first car was a Rabbit diesel with a blown engine. Happy 15th birthday from big brother. In Jr. High School, he kept his guidance counselors Subaru running until it had rusted in half. He purchased a used car from Lothar's Autohaus, Inc. and during the purchasing process had mentioned his talent. Lothar hired Jason to work after school and taught him to repair the old air-cooled VW's. Learning from a master VW mechanic who had worked in the VW factory in Germany gave Jason knowledge unobtainable from any book. Lothar's experience was the foundation for Jason's career. After moving to Florida, Jason was hired as a technician at a well known VW dealership in Orlando. He studied VW's latest technologies and became a Master VW technician in 2006. As his clientèle grew and his rapport with VW's engineers advanced, he was promoted to team leader then shop foreman. Jason, working alongside with Nate, his service advisor, did not know that his career would eventually take a huge leap. After working 13 years as a technician, 10 of which working with Nate, they decided to open their own VW shop. Jason and Nate are extremely proud of what they have built and are excited to do what they have been doing for years at their own location. Most VW owners already know us or know someone who does know us. Stop by and meet us at anytime or call to say hello. You will be very happy you did.
I live in Clermont and needed my recently purchased 2007 GTI worked on so I called one of the local major dealerships and was told they did not work on Volkswagen. After asking for a recommendation I was told by the person on the other end of the line that in fact his really good friend owned his own repair shop and they worked exclusively on Volkswagens; the name of the company was called Jason's Bug Ranch. I tool the information and called to make an appointment; during that call they made the exception of accommodating me even though they usually don't do anything major on Saturdays. When I arrived there were Volkswagens everywhere and after speaking with Jason it was obvious he was an authority on the brand, how they operate, function and how they should be repaired. He shared with me that he does not believe in trying to scare customers into spending more on repairs than is necessary; he believes some repairs are more urgent than others and it's his job to educate his customers about the urgency or lack there of for each repair need and I find that refreshing. That approach significantly increases the chance that the customer will return to him when necessary because consumer trust is hard to earn. Jason spent 45 minutes working on my car and asked me to bring it back when he had more time to repair it correctly; he gave he an entire in depth diagnostic report of my car of which there were many and didn't charge me a dime; he trusted that I would return and I did. Jason and Nate know what they're talking about when it comes to VW and surprisingly very friendly and approachable. Since having my car repaired there it has been running like a champion especially considering the car has 204k miles; it runs like new, very strong, very fast! I will recommended Jason's Bug Ranch to anyone wanting to repair their Volkswagen.I live in Clermont and needed my recently purchased 2007 GTI worked on so I called one of the local major dealerships and was told they did not work on Volkswagen. Jason and Nate do great work. You can see their love and passion for air cooled VW's. If you have a VW of any kind, air or water cooled, I would go see these guys.Jason and Nate do great work.
