I just had the clutch repaired on my 1974 MG Midget at Ron's transmission. He took the time to figure out the exact problem, ordered the correct parts and fixed the issue without a full clutch rebuild/replace. I was thrilled with his expert analysis of the situation to repair my car without pulling the engine, which would have been an expensive procedure. Ron and Paula provided quality service at a reasonable price, and I would certainly return.

Been going here for years and always suspected he was up to no good..he is a liar and breaks your car so you have to go back..I sent a friend and he switched out my friends battery for a crappy one..Do NOT let this person near your car..just a thief and liar..last thing did with him was an oil change..never put in a new oil filter but lied that he had

Our family has been taking our cars to Shell in the Square for years now, both for minor, expected, and unexpected repairs. We rely on the staff's judgement on our old car and have gotten excellent advice, timely repairs and are well satisfied with their service.

Went in to get a headlight fixed for a ticket and made an appointment for the following morning. We decided to drop the car off and uber back after dinner and while finishing up we received a call from Bill who told us he already took care of the light and we were able to drive home only an hour after dropping it off. The owner has been servicing my car for about 15 years. Unless it was an absolute emergency and he was unavailable, I wouldn't let anyone else touch my car. He does a great and conscientious job, on time, for a reasonable price, and more than once has saved me significant money. As an example, I recently took my car to the dealer to have a malfunctioning (and wide-open) window repaired. (This is a case where it was an emergency and he wasn't available!) The repair cost hundreds of dollars. 5 weeks later the repair failed, and the dealer told me their repair didn't fail; it was actually a NEW issue that would cost me another big pile of money to fix. No thanks, I said and headed to S&W. Turns out the problem was a loose connection, an easy fix. S&W saved me $400! I own a BMW 328Xi and was looking for a guy who doesn't rip me off but is knowledgeable about the European cars. Mechanic Advisor suggested Nicks which is right off the exit 32 on I93. Nick was very sensible and had given me the best estimate I could get. Even though I was keen on getting other things fixed, Nick suggested that they were in decent shape for now. That is the best quality about Nick. He will only fix what is needed and doesn't not rip you off with sky high estimates. If you have a European car, then this is your guy. Period! Thanks Nick, Abhi

I took my car here for an oil change yesterday and the service was great! When we were driving back home a little whole later our "check gages" light came on and our oil pressure gage was down completely. We called the store back and the owner came to my house and checked the car which was fine (just a wire). Such great service is rare in a mechanic shop and was such a great surprise!

Since I moved to Wilmington last year, I have been been dreading finding a new mechanic. It took me a year, but I think found exactly what I am looking for. I discovered M&S on Angie's list where it was highly rated. After talking to Mark for a couple of minutes I was immediately at ease, and felt like my car was in really good hands. I needed my AC fixed. Mark explained to me how they diagnose, find, and fix problems with the AC. Mark really impressed me with his knowledge of the AC in my car's make and model. He called me after diagnosing the problem and gave me an estimate before performing any work. He made recommendations on parts, and gave me my choice. He ended up charging me $70 less than his estimate. Mark earned my business, and I thought I'd write a glowing review so that other's can find this guy as well. -John Jenson
