I have used Advanced Technical Repair for years. Mark, the owner is very knowledgeable and extremely trustworthy. I can always depend on him to let me know what my options are and to fix my vehicles in a safe and cost effective manner. I give them 5 stars without reservation!

I arrived on my way from Massachusetts to Georgia with one of my windshield fluid dispensers not working in the aftermath of a winter storm. It was just before closing on a Friday afternoon, and Country Auto took my car into the shop, warmed it up, got my line unfrozen and charged me nothing! I wouldn't have been able to continue otherwise. This is a great place. It is conveniently located to an I-91 exit.

This is one of those places that when you go for something simple like an oil change, they will find something that they say should be fixed asap, and that they can do for you right now. However, their prices are far higher than other shops can do it for you, and they quoted me some front end work on my truck that the dealer could do for less, and with original parts! They advertise that every 4th oil change is free. However, when we tried to use the 4th free one on our truck, that was excluded, even though they did it before. Latest thing was overcharging for a routine oil change on our car by $5. OK, not a big deal, but when asked, they gave some stupid reason hat the car needed an extra quart of oil. Sorry, that's just not a plausible answer. When we requested a refund, because we showed them he old oil change slip, they only would give us $2. There are many other places to go to get your car worked on. I suggest you go there and don't bother to stop at Jackson's.

Went to Midas in Vernon ct to have the brakes checked on my toyota, they checked them for free and gave me a great price for the front brakes and tolled me that the rear brakes did not need to be done they wore ok. Very satisfied, great pleople.

Crooked business. Had an exhaust dump valve welded in. I don't know how they did the job, but they decided that welding about 3/4 of the circumference of the pipes together was "sufficient enough"--clearly laziness because the pipe was hard to reach. I wondered why my exhaust sounded so terrible. Also, they didn't even do the install as I asked--they placed the valve in the wrong spot. Overpriced. Do not go here. I have photos of proof.

I have used Paul's auto for years on all my vehicles from oil changes to overhauls all types of work. I've brought them Ford's to VW's to Acura's etc they are very knowledgeable and make you understand what work is being performed and why. If issues pop up they let you know what they've found and what will be needed to resolve them. They instill confidence at every turn and even though servicing vehicles is an annoying necessary evil they make you feel that the job was done right by local professionals. I've referred many people to work with them even my own grandmother because I know that they will take care of her and not advantage of her because she isn't mechanically inclined. Supporting local family owned businesses is important to me and the CT economy. It should be to you as well. Paul's Auto is one of the good ones so please help make them even more successful than they already are!

I brought my car into Midas, S Main st Torrington CT on July 25th 2022 to have a new differential ring and pinion installed. The car was promised to me for July 26, 2022. Midas kept delaying and putting of the performing of the job for a full 2 1/2 weeks. I had to purchase the tool for the mechanic to perform the job. When I pick up the car on Thursday August 11th 2022, I leave the parking lot with the car and almost immediately here and abnormal sounding whining or grinding in the rear end. I turn around grab another mechanic who is still there and hadn't gone home yet and took him for a test drive and let him listen to the noise. he assured me the noise is normal and is a break in noise that will go away after 100 or so miles. 150 miles later, the noise is still there and other people who are mechanics NOT with Midas tell me the differential should not make ANY noise at all if the job is properly performed. In short, I had to wait 2 1/2 weeks for a job that was promised to be a one or two day job. The job was performed poorly and there may be damage to my car. Mida grossly overcharged me a price of $850 for a job that is listed as a 5 hour job on the books.
