Founded in 1985, Shepard's Service Center started as an automotive repair and gasoline service station in Finksburg, Maryland. In 1998, we decided to devote all of our time to automobile and light truck repair allowing us to meet more of our customer's needs. In 2010, we moved to a new convenient location, 3226 Baltimore Blvd. Finksburg, to better serve our customers. Just discovered Foltz and wish I had earlier! I took my car in for brakes and a grinding noise that sounded expensive. Turned out the noise was related to the front brakes so there was no extra work that needed to be done. Foltz was cheaper than Jones where I got my car. My husband went there 2 days later and had his tires rotated, also cheaper than Jones. I will drop my car next time instead of waiting- it took almost 3 hours to get the new front brakes done.

I was driving from Washington DC to Long Island NY on 10/20/2012 when I had a tire problem (slow deflation) on I-95. I made it to the Joppa exit ramp and put air in the tire at a quick mart/gas station. Not wanting to press on to a travel plaza for a tire repair I went to the nearby Day’s Joppa Auto Repair. They were able to help me immediately. When they pulled the bad front tire we found an unusual wear pattern that had worn one side down to the inner cord. Continued driving could have caused the tire to go flat again and possibly come apart. The other front tire was in a similar but less severe condition. I purchased a new set of front tires and an alignment to help with the wear pattern. They were able to get me back on the road in about an hour. As it was more than a simple flat tire, stopping there allowed me to get the problem fixed and continue my road trip. I found that Lissa, the general manager, and mechanics to be courteous, helpful and businesslike. The pricing and the services provided were right on the mark. I was pleased with the outcome and would use them again if I lived in the area.

I am in the middle of transferring a PA registered car to MD, and everyone here has been so helpful. They're quick, they keep appointments, they're accommodating and thorough, and I have gotten clear, reasonable answers to every question I've asked about the process. No car lingo, no trying to sell me something I don't need - they are actually concerned with my safety and doing their job well to ensure that.
