I purchased a used 2005 Cadillac Deville on Friday, November 23. The vehicle broke down and died by 10:00 p.m. Saturday evening when my wife attempted to use it for work. The battery was dead and required replacement on Sunday, November 25. The cost for replacement was $175. The battery inserted and sold with the car was not the correct one, and was much too small for this vehicle according to the auto parts store. This explains why the car needed to be jumped several times before we test road it at the dealership. I was told it wouldn’t start immediately because it had been sitting for an extended period of time. That was not the issue or case at all. The car’s original battery had been removed and placed with a smaller inferior one. Despite repeated calls and e-mails to our salesman and the sales manager who handled all the paperwork to rectify the situation, it still hasn’t been addressed. I was told it would be handled within 24 hours once the service manager was contacted and questioned. The dealership won’t return any further calls or messages. The sales manager Vinny refused to come to the phone to further discuss the problem and had one of his salesmen tell me there was they nothing they could do and he was too busy. The second issue is false advertising on the same vehicle. It wasn’t until we discovered smoke and burning runoff on the engine that we were told that the engine had been replaced, and the original was blown upon receiving the vehicle. This was not mentioned or indicated in the car dealership's ad. We decided to take the chance on the replacement engine when the sales manager agreed to give us a 1-year warranty on the replaced engine. He would not, however, disclose how many miles this replacement engine had. A simple $175 check for the replaced battery would have made me a happy customer. I completely understand there's going to be problems when buying a used vehicle as is, but to have the car die 24 hours later is completely unacceptable.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU WISH TO SAVE YOUR MONEY, THEY ARE THE RUDEST BEINGS I EVER DEALT WITH, OVERCHARGED ME ON A SIMPLE JOB, ESTIMATE WENT FROM 100 TO OVER 40O$, I ONLY WENT THERE BECAUSE MY REGULAR MECHANIC IN PASSAIC WAS FAR AWAY BUT WOULD HAVE COST ME MUCH LESS TO TOW CAR IF I BROKE DOWN AND STILL SAVE A COUPLE OF HUNDRED BUCKS, SIMPLE STARTER PROBLEM ON A MINIVAN ETC ETC.... ALSO TOLD ME THEY HAVE TO CHARGE ADDITIONAL MONEY BECAUSE I DID NOT TELL THEM I WAS PAYING BY CREDIT, WHAT KIND OF PLACE IS THIS, MOST CONSUMERS PAY BY CREDIT, THIS IS NORMAL US BUSINESS.... Chris ridge auto service… Buyer BEWARE! (This is a shorter edited copy) I recently spent $2282.00 on my 2003 Voyager van that, when they gave it back to me, did not start and then they wanted $900.00 more to get it running again.? On January 1st my engine light went on . I brought the van to Chris Ridge Service . Less than an hour later I got a call from their mechanic who said I need a leak detector pump , front brakes and radiator and rear shocks , cost would be $1498.00… I said . ? I went back to pick up the van I had a hard time starting it, and it overheated .I drove right back to them and they and said it was a vapor problem.? Then the next day ,van would not start. It was towed back to Chris Ridge Service who calls me and says the van needs a tune-up for 684.00 ... That day, they called said it’s all ready” . . IT WOULD NOT START..?A mechanic had to come out and start it for me...He told me I now have to pump the gas to start it, it started and white smoke was blowing out .I said to him “is this is right”...he told me to drive it and see what happens. ?After couple days of getting stuck with the van because it would not start I called back Chris Ridge Service and their mechanic said he the problem is the Catalytic Converter and muffler is stuffed . I asked how much more and he said $900 extra. ? At this point I've had it. I picked up the van.?I went to other mechanics for help . Their advise was to junk the van..?One of the members of my band has a 1980 Toyota with over 400,000 miles...Ugly car but it runs like a clock. His mechanics is Tommy (Tom's Automotive Specialists Inc) I managed to get the van up there and get everything fixed very easily. While my van was running great, I drove the van to Chris Ridge Service to show them that is how it was running to prove their diagnosis was not the problem. The owner Chris was very sarcastic as to what Tommy said the problem was and wanted to see his receipt of the work done...I could only think they wanted to learn what they didn’t do right. Conclusion… Chris Ridge Service is not qualified to be fixing cars, it’s a gas station. Their skills are amateur and dishonest . I want to warn anyone who needs auto repair to avoid Chris Ridge Service on park ave. in Rutherford NJ. and Find another mechanic.
