My vehicle was towed to Scruggs. They do not work on Friday, Saturday or Sunday so it’s sad there for over five days when they finally were able to look at it. They charged over $2300 for a water pump replacement and one headlight two license plate lamps. It then died a few days later. My regular mechanic said he could see the fire going inside the vehicle due to the alternator not being tightened enough from repairs done at Scruggs. Now I am out an additional $650. Do not recommend.

Continental Transmission

909 Hertel Avenue, Buffalo

My 02 Explorer needed transmission work about a year ago (April 2011). I contacted Continental Transmission and decided to have them install a rebuilt transmission with a one year warranty. Over the course of the past year I have had to take the vehicle back 5 times due to transmission problems and a whinning noise from the transmission. I had the vehicle back in to be looked at about 3 weeks ago.. they had my vehicle for 6 days then finally told me that my transfer case was the problem.. not the transmission. Hence.. not covered under warranty and would cost $1300 to repair. The next day I took my vehicle to two other shops (one being the Ford dealer) and was told that my transfer case was fine but was told that my transmission was one the verge of failure. Bear in mind this is less than 24 hours after Continental told me it was fine. I called and spoke with Greg at Continental and repeated what I had been told. I insisted that they replace the transmisson and restart my one year warranty. He reluctantly agreed. So at this point I had been lied to and almost ripped off for another $1300.. but.. what other choice do I have but let them install another rebuilt transmission? After a few days I picked up my truck and everything seemed great. Then I notice that my front license plate is dented along with heavy scrapes to the paint on my front bumper. Now.. 3 weeks later.. the transmission is leaking fluid all over my garage floor. My 4 year old daughter rollar skated though it, fell, and scrapped her knee pretty good.. but thats another story. This time I didn't even bother calling Continental. I took it to a shop in Niagara Falls. I was told, and saw with my own eyes, that the rebuilt transmission from Continental was actually a used transmission that had been spray painted. The transmission gasket was leaking and a bolt was actually broken off and was also repainted. The broken bolt prevents the transmission pan from being tightened properly, thus stopping the leak. I
