As the Manager at this facility, I would like to take this opportunity to provide some information in regards to the previous post. The above customer came into our facility with two concerns. First, check a no start condition. It was a simple diagnosis, the starter had failed. We replaced the Starter, charged standard book time and the cost of a new, not rebuilt part. We even gave the customer a lifetime warranty on the part and did not charge a diagnostic fee. The second concern was to check a no heat condition. We verified there was no heat, and there was a noise coming from the dashboard area. I explained to Tony, this would require removal of the lower part of the dash board to diagnose and there would be a charge. It could be either an acuator, a blendoor, or even debris causing this condition. Tony declined. All the information was clearly marked on the receipt, in which, Tony had signed. I would be more than happy to repair the no heat condition on his old, high mileage vehicle, but he did not want it repaired due to cost. Today (Oct.3rd,2012) I felt like I won the lottery!! Today I found an HONEST auto shop. My car wouldn't work for a couple of days, nothing electrical was working. My regular mechanic, who has checked my car inside and out, told me that I probably needed to get a new ($800.00) alternator. But the wonderful people at Jays Auto Body quickly found the real reason: the clamps connecting the battery had become rusted, and with sandpaper, they easily fixed the problem,by removing the rust. Even though for years, my regular mechanic had been telling me that they had been checking my battery during routine inspections. Jays Auto Body also inspected my front brake pads & rotors, when another auto shop tried to scare me into buying new ones every year, or I would have an accident with my brakes.But when Jays Auto inspected my rotors; they said that they were just fine.
