My wife was given a 2004 Lexus ES300 by her mother. It had sat for about year before my wife started driving it. Although the car was in great shape we soon learned that it needed a brak job. We took it to a dealership in Delaware, Ohio and were given an estimate of almost 1/2 the cars value. I decided to go online and look for another mechanic in the Delaware area. Boy was I glad I did. I read a bunch of reviews about James Church and his staff at Oxford Automotive and decided to contact him to discuss our issues. He was very careful to not badmouth the dealership I took the car to, which was clearly due to his Faith. He suggested I bring the car in and he would give us PT Crusier rental car for a set one time price that is equal to a daily price from rental agencies. Long story short, he was able to fix all of our issues and them some and still save us over $500 from what the dealership was quoting. He also made suggestions as to what might be needed in the future but never once pushed to have it done immediately. The entire staff we dealt with was so nice and proefssional which was quite refreshihng. This is one place that does business the old fashioned way and we were so appreciative of the honesty and quality of work. Thanks so much James, and also thank your staff for us!

I feel compelled to write this as I have never encountered such a rude, inappropriate and downright lousy treatment in any of my consumer experiences to date. I dropped my car off at the reccomendation of a few people I know who have had him do some minor mechanical work on their vehicles (plugs/distrubutor/ fuel pump replacement etc). At first he appeared as a normal mechanic running his own shop when I dropped the car off. Upon receiving the quote for replacing my steering components (to the tune of $600) I inquired more into the parts that needed replaced. His labor charges at first appeared very reasonable (160) out of the $600 however upon asking about how much more if i brought my own parts he said substantially. I still thought this was reasonable (afterall they make money off the parts). I then said ok, this all sounds reasonable except I would like to know how much it would any less the tire since I had a full warranty against ANY type of damage that I inflict upon them through discount tire. He then became very angry claiming he doesn't have time to negotiate and to come pick up my car. Now the length of this conversation has totalled about 1 minute at this point, which I feel is nothing out of the ordinary but nevertheless, I said "ok I'll come pick it up" because clearly this was not a mechanic I wnated to deal with. Upon picking the car up I said nice doing business with you in a self-admittingly sarcastic tone...to which he responded "Up your ass" This is a 40-50 year old man who conducts business as "here is the cost, if you don't like it "up yours"...needless to say I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. As a reference the parts only cost a little under $350 for me to buy off the shelf...At $600 that leaves about a $100 markup bringing the "labor" to substantially more. I don't know how reasonable this is but it appeared so and I was willing to pay it less the tire.

This place is HORRIFIC. We have had the worst experience EVER with Clayton who works in the shop. They "rebuilt" our transmission and within 24 hours it broke again and they are currently refusing to pay for their mistakes (or even own up to them, for that matter). We live in Chicago and are now arguing with him from 8 hours away, and he is a huge jerk. I am contacting all of his superiors so they all know about his unprofessional attitude and horrible work on our car. We have currently been without a car for a month total. And they refuse to pay for a rental car for us, so we have incurred that expense on our own. I will NEVER, EVER buy another Ford car or use Coughlin Ford, and neither will my family and friends who live in Johnstown. They are undeserving of any stars.
