I want to thank Chris for his professionalism and care while repairing my daughters BMW while away at college. Chris arranged to have her car picked up and taken to his shop where he diagnosed the problem and replaced her starter at a very reasonable charge. My daughter is not familiar with San Antonio and did not have a way to pick up her car. Chris, understanding of our situation, volunteered to drop it off to her after hours. It’s nice to know that there are still shops out there that operate with integrity and our sincere to your needs. I look forward to doing business again. Thank you.

I had a good experience here. This is the first time I took my car in for a repair in San Antonio. I called them for a quote, I was happy with the price (I had done my research), they ordered the part, we made the appointment and then I brought it in. They fixed it in the amount of time they said they would even though I showed up late, they charged me the price they quoted and they didn't bring any new problems to my attention. They also gave me $25 off because I signed up for the text message discounts. I haven't been getting any texts since then but I got and used that first one. I haven't smelled oil since that day. They also gave me a stamp card to earn a free oil change. I'm thoroughly happy.

I shopped several transmission repair shops and got many stories and prices without any of them really looking at my transmissions. Option Transmissions did a scan of the car with the snap-on modus scanner then they told me what was wrong and what it would take to fix it. They delivered what they promised and we are very happy with the results. They guarantee their work. I also liked the fact that the place was clean and well organized. Thanks John.

little over a month ago i took my 1993 for mustang to have it looked at the reason why the clutch came loose. their so called mechanic told me the first time it needed a factory made(original clutch), after several minutes of discussion i told him to do what it needed to fix the problem for good. He REASSURED ME the problem will be corrected for good. long story short it hasn't been fixed and i am out 600.00 dls on my recent encounter with the owner/manager he was very blatant, he threatened me overall i was poorly treated, and he charged me another 100.00 and supposedly now he nows why my clutch is not fixed until i do something else that will cost me more more when in reality they should have fixed it right the first time. I will never go back. It's worth mentioning that as i was being poorly treated there were several customers witnessing the whole situation. I sure hope they or anybody else who is willing to get ripped off does not go back. That type of business does not need to exist, specially now days when times are hard its not at all easy to just chuckle up 700.00 plus dls.

8/14/16: My transmission broke down in downtown San Antonio. I was visiting from Las Cruces, NM. Needless to say, I was in a bind. It was Sunday and I had no wheels in a strange city far from home. I called a few places with 24/7 towing and Gary from Select Transmission was the first to get back to me. Beggars can't be choosers, so I had the truck towed to their shop. 8/15/16: The parking lot at Select is jammed with vehicles. This might be a sign of them being in high demand because of their excellent service, but it's really because they are slow and/or overbooked. I'd be fine with slow, IF the work is done properly, but that was not to be in my case. They were super nice and cool as they talked knowledgeably about automotive repair. I ended up ordering an upgraded 4L80E with a nationwide 3 year warranty and was able to get financing for the whole cost of the repair, approximately $3800. I told them it would be about 3 weeks before I could arrange to get back out to SA to pick up the truck. I caught a flight home for $350 since I had to work the next day. 8/29/16: I called Select to get an update. Gary said it would be ready by Wednesday, the 31st. I let them know I'd be coming out at the end of the week, which would be the start of Labor Day weekend. 9/2/16: I took an afternoon flight to SA (another $350) and got to Select at about 5pm to pick up the truck. They had apparently been rushed to put it back together...so much for being done by the 31st. Gary told me there was a noise and they couldn't figure out the source. I knew of a noise coming from my front transfer case every now and then, so I told him that was probably it. He also told me that the transmission would make some noise for a few hundred miles as it broke in. Not knowing any better, I drove it for about 90 miles while there was this loud scraping sound. I ended up parking it at a friend's place. Underneath the truck there was evidence of fluid leakage and the skid plate that protected the transmission was missing. The shop was closed for the weekend so I couldn't take it back until Tuesday. 9/3/16: I called Select and got Gary the lying rat on the phone. He was at some Labor Day weekend tailgate party and the shop was closed. He told me to check the fluid level. No help there, the fluid level was fine. 9/5/16: I wasn't going to drive the truck 700 miles making that noise and I wasn't going to leave my truck there for another three weeks so I arranged to have it shipped back to a transmission shop in El Paso for $500 and rented a car to drive home ($120). 9/10/16: My truck arrived at the shop in El Paso. I owe the guy there $400 for the balance of having my truck shipped. 9/22/16: I make it into the El Paso shop and pay the $400. He had already inspected the truck and pulled the rear transfer case off the back of the transmission. It had not been filled with oil, the filler plug on top was missing and the drain plug was loose. The inside was full of metal shavings. Total cost to replace with a rebuilt unit: $1241. Thanks a lot, Select Transmission! To be fair, the transmission itself was fine and installed properly. But PROPER removal and replacement of the rear transfer case is an integral part of the job and this was not done.

Shame on Pep Boys….Scammers and thieves… The Pep Boys at 830 Military Dr. in San Antonio, Texas, are full of lies and deceit when it comes to servicing your tires. Your boss, Pep Boys President, Mike O’dell knows about this and will not get involved. So I now have to get rid of these tires via the net. I am starting with Ebay. This is how I cam about selling these sCrap art tires; Today I visited your Pep Boys location at 830 SE Military Dr. in San Antonio. I needed this visit to correct a vibration problem that was felt on my 1995 Mercury Mystique. This has been an on going problem since mid 2010, yet I was not made aware of this until recently from my brother. I entered the service department and was greeted by service advisor Johnny (I soon come to find out he is the manager, He did not portray the position). I explained that I had a vibration that was getting worse daily and would like to have the balance checked since I had the lifetime balance. Johnny proceeded to write up a service order, he then walked out to my vehicle looked at the driver side front tire and he came back into the service area stating to me that the tires were almost worn out and they needed to be replaced. I felt this was odd since he just looked at 1 tire, so, I asked what the tread depth was; he stated 3/32”. I then questioned him as to what was causing the vibration; being sarcastic, I asked, is it the air? Again, he stated that the tires are worn almost to the point of being illegal, which is 2/32” (a scare tactic to make a sale by instilling fear into the customer) At that point; the service technician was bringing my vehicle into the bay. My vehicle was lifted into the air by this technician after he performed an inspection in the engine compartment. While in the air the technician also jerked on the front suspension, apparently to ensure there were no loose parts. I asked Johnny to inform the technician be careful when removing the hubcaps since 1 hub cap was cracked on the l

DO NOT take your car to Fernando Gutierrez! He used to be so fair & honest. He always seemed to give me a good price & quick service. He seemed to actually care about his customers. But lately, over the last year or so, he has changed. The last couple of times I took my car to him he couldn't figure out what was wrong even after driving the car with me and my pointing out what it was doing wrong. But I still gave him the benefit of the doubt & recently took my daughter's car to him to fix a broken axle. He charged her $484. After the repair it didn't feel right & she took it back the next day. He said he looked at it, drove it, and couldn't find anything wrong. Again he wanted to drive it with her for her to point out what she was feeling even though she felt this should have been obvious. She took her car to the Ford Dealership where they immediately found that the axle was installed incorrectly, the front wheel was loose and wobbly, & the motor was resting on the frame! A screw was inserted crookedly, stripping the threads in the axle assembly. The wheel was damaged beyond repair from the loose lug nuts. She could have been killed if she had taken it on the freeway! The wheel would have flown off! He refuses to admit any wrong doing even though he let it slip that he did not do the work or look at it himself. He refuses to give even a partial refund. The repair cost at Ford is $2800 + tax to fix the damage he caused by his negligence. She could have been killed! And all he could say was, "I don't know what happened. Bring it back to me and I'll fix it right this time." He already had a second chance and didn't even look at it. Who, in their right mind would take it back to him again????????
