Mufflers repair service near Amelia Court House, VA

I have used 4 Automotive shops over the past 34 years I have lived in Midlothian. Some for convenience on small stuff like inspections or oil changes. I would have used Automotive Concepts more regularly but due to the demand for their 5 star level of service you must plan in advance to get your car in via scheduling. Well Oct 18th changed everything. I was in St. Augustine FL with family and grandchildren and the local Dealer had looked at my truck for loss of Coolant. Head gasket Blown and needs new engine but they cannot get one from the manufacturer nor could I get a remanufactured engine like Jasper. Truck is a 2017 with over 144K on Odometer! I paid $570 and had the truck shipped home and I also paid the $450 diagnostics fee to the dealer and another $650 in one way rental charges to Enterprise. i took several weeks to find, secure and have shipped a replacement engine. Meanwhile I knew I did not want the other shops to handle this I wanted Automotive concepts. I was very concerned I would not be able to get my truck back before year end. Jem and his team including Jake did a complete lift of the Body from the frame and did the entire replacement. All totaled the engine I bought and Automotive concepts charges came to just at $9500. The engine is not new or remanufactured because none were available NATIONWIDE! But with only 22754 miles on the Odometer, the replacement engine it feels like new. Included with the engine install Jim and Jake went through suspension and other systems and did replacements of components that at 144k miles needed to be redone. I am one very happy customer as my truck now feels like it is brand new and at $9500 I could never come close to finding a replacement vehicle! I immediately brought in another vehicle to have the suspension done and for any vehicle work in the future I will be going to Automotive Concepts. BTW as a financial Advisor the largest client I had was a Automotive firm out of Fairfax that sold out to Monroe Tire and Muffler in 2007 for $12 Million. I worked with that company for over 25 years and I knew every one of their technicians. It doesn't come any better than Automotive Concepts! 5 Stars all the way!

BEWARE!!!!!! Shop employees or manager robbed me blind. Seen my out of state tags I guess. Stolen over $2500 from me. He parks cars outside of there lot where no cameras are, also known for breakin he claims. Car was not broken into but just robbed by employees. Beware your vehicles are not safe from this establishment. Very shady. This would never happen under Sean the owner. Terrible management now!!

These guys are great. I had work done at a local chain shop and they led me to believe I had a serious problem that would keep us from driving back to NC. I called Murray's, explained the situation and asked if they could take a look. Less than an hour later, they had carefully looked into things and found a minor oversight by the previous mechanic. It was cleared up and all is good. Attitude, courtesy, responsiveness, listening skills, mechanical understanding ... all top notch. Next time we're here and need auto work - I'll go to them first. My husband took our Mercedes in because the headlights were going out while driving at night. We took it in for repair. We were told that the diagnostics said the alternator needed to be replaced. After paying a bill for 495.00, the car was still doing the same thing the next day. We took our car back to get the problem corrected. In the mean time, my husband called a local Mercedes repair shop to inquire about the headlights and they told him that most likely a module needed to be replaced. (No mention of the alternator at all). Low and behold, when we called Buddy South back, Scott, the manager told me that they THOUGHT the problem was the alternator but now they THINK it is a switch and we needed to fork over another $520 dollars. When I asked why both problems did not show up when they did the diagnostics, he said they only checked for problems with the alternator. (But the diagnostics should have been to detect the problems no matter what was causing the problem).I asked Scott if they checked to make sure that the problem was fixed after they replaced the alternator and he said he could not duplicate the problem. However, they were able to duplicate the problem the second time around. All they had to do was let the car run with the headlights on for 10 minutes and "voila". I don't think they tried the first time around, because they ASSUMED the alternator was the problem. Basically, if you have a foreign car, don't let BUDDY SOUTH guess at your car problems....It will cost you dearly. I was forced to give them one star but I would never recommend this shop to any one.....unless I really wanted to see them spend unnecessary money. I wouldn't wish that on any one.

So, this review is going to be a long one because it is a long story. I want people to know though. I took my car to get a State Inspection and an oil change. I had never been there before, but I though I would try it. Well, after waiting a normal amount of time I am told that my car needs two things to pass inspection. A transmission mount and a license plate bulb. I was told the transmission mount was broken, but that they did not have one. So, he said that he would call their warehouses to find one. He was unable to find one and said it would have to be ordered, so I told him I would try to find one myself and call him back if I couldn't. Well, I couldn't find it either except by ordering, so I just called him and told him to order it. This all happened on a Saturday. He promised me that they would have the part by Monday, so I said I would be there Wednesday morning to have the repair done. So, I drive up there Wednesday and walk in to get it repaired. I am then told that they have not received the part yet and that I will receive a call when they do. So, as I'm getting ready to leave I run into the man who I talked with Saturday. He then checks and tells me that what happened was they ordered the part, but the warehouse didn't do their job and order it. He says they might have it tomorrow. So, Saturday (a week later) I call them again and am told that they still don't have it. This time they tell me the warehouse dropped the ball and didn't inform them that the part wasn't available in the aftermarket world and that it would have to be ordered from the dealer. He then promises me that it is verified they will have it Tuesday and to bring in my car Wednesday ( a week and a half later from the first visit). So, I go in Wednesday (today) and they go ahead and pull it in and put it on a lift. I am then told that they received the wrong part. My car is a manual transmission, but they had received a mount for an automatic transmission. He tells me though that he ordered a backup with the dealership just in case this happened, but he won't have it until this afternoon. So, I have left my car their with them and await a phone call saying it is ready to go. I will update on what happens. So, as far as I'm concerned this is beyond unacceptable. Today is strike three. I'm extremely patient and had just wrote this off as an odd one time incident, but not now. This place seems incompetent and unable to simply obtain a part. The only reason I'm still having them do it is to get done today. If I get it done somewhere else they'll have to order it as well and there is no telling how that will go. Couldn't go worse than this though. So, if they don't get it fixed today, they can just forget and I'll go through the headache of taking it somewhere else. Either way, I'm never going back to Meineke. NEVER! I ALSO GIVE YOU A WARNING! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

I had a great experience at Ms Tuffy. I called and explained my situation and they were helpful from the beginning. Mike kept me up to date with what was going on with my car and when there were additional problems, he offered a loaner car for me to use. I am very impressed with the professionalism of the manager and the entire staff and the work they do. I will definitely recommend Ms Tuffy to everyone I know and if the need arises, will be a repeat customer.

Great service by John at the store. A little delay out in the shop but John stayed on top of it. Very good pricing on the tires I bought. Really nice experience. Store could use a better parking area...very crowded for customers to get in move around the lot.

This dirtbag Mike Morris ripped me off by selling me a car with several thousand dollars worth of repairs needed to get it roadworthy. He told me when he sold it to me he had "Fixed it up." He's apretty good liar and it's obvious he does it a lot. He misrepresented the car sale to me and within two weeks it was undrivable. I had to junk it. If you don't want someone stealing your money then I suggest leaving these jerks alone, they will rip you off and not blink an eye.

They overcharge people. I took in my car for inspection and they found so many issues … needless to say NOT necessary for inspection … I ended up paying $845! I will never return!
