The people were very friendly and helpful. I decided not to get some of the work done there as I found much cheaper options elsewhere, but that was my choice and not a problem with Nielson’s. My main frustration is that a day after I had my car looked at there (and had the problems they identified addressed by another cheaper garage), the car failed a safety inspection for three things that did not show up anywhere on their report: parking break not holding, and a front and rear marker light out. Those seem like very easy things to identify, especially the lights, so not sure why they were missed.

I have an aging BMW X5 and as most BMW owners well know, it’s not inexpensive to maintain these cars. When I visited the new Route 15 Classic Garage to get my safety inspection, I learned that they also offer mechanical services as well. They brought in some high quality experienced mechanics that have worked on both foreign and domestic cars. I also learned that they have all the equipment necessary to repair these vehicles just like the Dealers, so I thought I would give these guys a try at repairing my back brakes. The owner, Ed (very personable) told me he could get the brakes completed at a rate under $100 per hour, saving me roughly $20-$30 per hour vs the competition. He also offered flexibility with the equipment - using the same materials that BMW uses or as other options, similar suggested equipment, or equipment that I desired. I really liked the flexibility. I can honestly say, my brake repair job was done to my satisfaction, completed on time, and at a rate that was very reasonable. I was impressed with the staff of new employees here and their ability to do foreign car repairs. I had a great experience at this new repair facility and will definitely go back there again.

Tom is the best. He knows cars and shoots straight. Takes care of his customers like family. If he can't fix it, he will send you to the right place or take it there himself. He will get the work done while you are at work in dc; by offering to pick up and drop off your car at the train station.

My wife and I have been taking our cars to Chantilly Automotive for over 5 years now at the recommendation of a co-worker. I have met with Bill, the owner, and Chris and Sonny; each of them has been fair, knowledgeable, and courteous every time we have taken our cars there. I think they deserve much better than the 2 and 1 star ratings they received several years ago. They used to offer a shuttle service to my work a few years ago, but had to cut back when the recession hit. However, my wife and I make it work to take our cars there because they are so reliable.

We just discovered them on craigslist when we needed to fix one of the lights on our BMV 321i 2009 model. We called and left a message on the phone number provided and they called us back and we booked an appointment for same day. We met David the General Manager at the nicely decorated office and workshop at Chantilly. He was very professional and knowledgeable on BMWs. In fact we were very impressed with the diagnoses he gave us on other issues on our car. They also gave us a good discount on oil change and the icing was 2 year warranty for the parts we purchased from them which actually came from the dealership. They also gave us a good discount. I wanted to wait to see how the repairs I received here worked out. Good news! My car is still running great. My car broke down nearby this place and I limped in to their parking lot and left the key in the drop box. They have a website that shows that they accept overnight and weekend vehicles, which was a reason why I dropped my car off there. I lucked out, because these guys did a great job. They were very clear about what was wrong when they called me, and they gave me good advice about the timing belt being changed. It's been a few long driving trips and my car is still running well and not overheating. They did a great job and if I lived closer to them, I'd take my car there again. John Kennedy
