Engine repair service near Chugiak, AK

When I bought my used Subaru A&A did a great job on changing the head gaskets. They did it in a timely manner and no problems after. Just had a complimentary oil change too. I'm not sure how long I've been going to A&A, more than 10 years I'd guess. They are outstanding! They are patient, give good explanations, and are accurate in their estimates about time and cost (given the vagaries of what they find and where the part comes from). I used Edmonds for all my vehicle needs while we lived in Alaska and still feel comfortable calling with questions now that we have left the state. The environment has always been welcoming and they only gave me a little slack for driving a jeep and a ford (all in good fun, though). This shop takes customer service and pride to a new level. Had them bore a block and some head work. Terrible job, every bore was tapered or egg shaped, piston to wall clearance was anywhere from .0005 to .0035. Had block inspected by two other shops, had to bore out to .040 to fix it. They ground the margins off every valve but one, ruining brand new valves. If your looking for a shop I would keep looking.

Bill was beyond helpfull very grateful I found a shop I can trust. Now a days hard to trust anyone working on your vehicle. If you want excellent service at a very reasonable price CPR is your best option in anchorage. -Travis
