Recently, the management has changed and the focus is obviously on the up-sell. Last week I took my car in for an oil change and tire repair (nail in tire). Three hours later I received a call that the tire could not be repaired and I would need to purchase a new tire ($150+). After I explained that I purchased the tire there and had hazard coverage the manager Kyle replied "Oh I didn't notice." Well it's a good thing I KNEW what I had purchases. Once he checked the computer the cost of the tire dropped to $55. Kyle then informed me that I need a special engine treatment or the car's engine would be damaged during the upcoming cold weather. I explained to Kyle that my finances were limited and he stated that the cost would be $49.00. I asked for more information because I was afraid I was being taken advantage of and after Kyle's explanation I felt that it was a vital service. I said to Kyle "With the tire at $55 and the engine service at $49, my total cost will remain around $100 so I guess I better get the engine taken care of too." When I arrived to pick up the car, Al was very nice and explained that the Engine service was $99, but I explained that Kyle said it was $49. Al called Kyle as Kyle had conveniently left for the day. When Al finished his phone call he stated that Kyle said it was $99. Knowing it was not Al's fault I simply paid my bill which now was nearing $200! Upon arriving home BROKE and disheartened by the downturn in service and management at a place I use to rely on, I told the story to my son. My son (who typically drives this car) went out to the car and came back with a receipt from 3 months ago showing the car had a complete engine inspection and service from Mazda (including a computer report on the engine). I now know NOT to trust Kyle and my local Pep Boys! Sadly, a place I've used since it opened is now off the list of trusted places. Just another stereotypical, take advantage of people repair shop.

I couldn't believe it! I returned to the shop around 6:30 only to be told by "Mitch" that I had to wait another hour or so for my truck to be finished!?! It had been there ALL DAY! I can not stand this place and will definitely make sure that my fellow employees and friends will hear of this bad service!

The first thing I found within a month of buying was the heads were blown and they had poured so much stop leak in it that even after fixing the heads, the engine wouldn't circulate water because it was so clogged from the stop leak. Then I found out the radiator had been glued together, the overflow tank was cracked, and under the front bumper was in pieces. This car had been wrecked and patched up to sell. The A/C was being held in place with bungee cords and they had replaced the water pump & thermostat to have the car make it long enough to sell. This was maliciously done in order to pass this piece of junk along to someone else, me! I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and making it my mission to keep them from suckering anyone else! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!
