Desert Auto Works is a trusted family favorite. My brother-in-law recommended them to my Dad, who recommended them to me. Ownership/management has changed from Ken to Diego and Sergio, and we continue to use them for years now. They are not my sole auto repair source, because I like to have several flavors of mechanic.Desert AutoWorks has a smart, small, business-like flavor. They are not the cheapest, but your car and your phone call do not get lost in a shuffle; they keep you generally well-informed. They are not bozos when it comes to diagnostics. Though they do sometimes make mistakes, they make a sincere effort to take personal responsibility for diagnostics. They don't do unnecessary, dishonest work. They do not pad their recommendations or seek to meet service billings goals like a Midas shop.

As a mechanic myself that has moved into a different line of work I can fully recommend all the guys here at The Brake Shop. With my new responsibilities I don't always have the time I wish I did to do my own repairs. When I was new to the area I shopped around and talked to a lot of shops before having any work done. These guys are class act. They know their stuff and they put a great guarantee on their work. Honesty, reliability, and quality is the mantra here. After reading some of these reviews about being a "scam" or the guys looking for extra money... I'm not so sure if these people really used the same shop. I continue to refer friends/acquaintances/co-workers here when I don't have time to handle their repairs and all 5 of them have yet to have a less than stellar experience and reported back full satisfaction to me.

Came in to meet you to see what you could do with our used car that was just purchased (from a bad dealership) and you made our experience such a positive one. As the owner of a Mercedes S class, I'm glad that our family found someone like Reinhard to keep our vehicle maintained and on the road. Their estimates have always been accurate when they call to tell us what our vehicle needs. They always get us in within a day or 2 of calling. Yeah sure sometimes the final bill might be a little over due to needing an extra hose or part that you find bad when taking it off to get to another part but I would rather they replace it then and there, so we don't have to make a return trip or call for a tow when we are on the road. We have always been fairly treated by him and his wife in the office. Some of these other reviews I would I ??? as I do most on the internet these days. Stop in meet them talk to them you will see. They are straight forward and some people don't like that but personally I like the no gimmicks no games and I'm not against paying for someone's time to look over and actually repair what is "actually" needed. I have been coming here for over 3 years and will continue to do so.

If honesty and fairness is what you are looking for, look no further. I have taken a number of vehicles to Dan and never been disappointed. He has addressed everything from oil changes, to suspension, AC, exhaust, and cooling issues. Everybody I have recommended has had positive experiences as well.

Found them through a friend. I had a leaking brake line in the ABS of my BMW 540i. Took my car there yesterday. They did a great job in fixing that in an absolutely amazing price. And they also did a free inspection of my car and told me about the probs that I might face in future. They are not at all pushy about selling their services. I am really impressed with their service. Now I know this is the place to take my car for any service that it needs!!!!

Ray Morgan and his team have done it again. I recently purchased a Jeep. It had been sitting for years, tired, sad and maybe even a hopeless cause. Within days and a very reasonable amount of money, these guys had it purring like a kitten. I'm now in AZ back country a couple times a month with complete confidence in The "Black Bear". be careful with these people, they quote you 1 price tell you thats all you need, then change their tune and up the bill 200.00 w/o any prior authorization. i have all their voice mails saved and phone calls after the fact recorded where they contradict themselves not a very good business practice !

Chris did some work on our truck and he did an amazing job and was so nice! I would highly recommend him to anyone and will absolutely use him in the future if we have a need again. Not only was he honest but he took his time and explained why he was doing everything and also showed my son what he was doing and allowed him to watch and learn. This is one of the best shops in town. I have been going to them for years. I know cars, I can fix cars. It killed me when I came to the realization that I don't have the time to mess with that sort of thing anymore and had to trust someone else to be honest and competent with my vehicles. We have been bringing our Toyota, Lexus and Hondas here for years now. They keep excellent records, take good care of your car, and always give you a straight, honest answer on the car's problem. Virginia Auto Service does great work, The AC in my car went out and they were able to get me in the next day. They found the problem quickly and fixed it reasonably, plus they gave me a ride to work what more could you ask for!

I can't say enough about Chester's. My Daughter at Elon University had some issues with our Audi - Chester spent a lot of time diagnosing the problem found out it was a major issue with the cam shaft. I checked online and found out it was covered under a 10 year Audi extended warranty. I had the car towed to Audi of Greensboro. I asked Chester what I owed him...he didn't charge me! Wow - If we weren't three hours away I would take all my cars there. Nice honest and competent.

THIS is the place to go for honest automotive work. I have been coming here since 2007 for oil changes, car battery, emissions and other various work over the years. I have referred two friends to this shop and both have thanked me profusely for doing so. I cannot recommend this place enough. This is the real deal and they will not give you the run around.

I have been taking my 2009 Hyundai Elantra here for years and always have a pleasant experience. They are great at communicating, and when my car needed to stay for a couple of days, they graciously provided a "loaner" at no charge. And I always enjoy looking at the latest artist installation on the walls while I am there (I've been tempted to buy a couple of pieces once or twice!) I know there's the old cliche that women are taken advantage of at repair shops because we generally don't know a lot about cars, but with a woman owner - who is a mechanic herself - and 90-percent women employees (including a working mechanic), I always feel like I'm getting the straight story, explained to me in a way that I can understand! I moved into my home nearby one year ago and I was fortunate to find such a reputable repair shop! Curt and Graham once again went out of their way to make sure the car was properly repaired. I went in for a power steering leak. They said my rack and pinion needed replaced. They misquoted me the price. Held my car for ransom 5 days. Would not put my old one back on because they damaged it. They charged me 2000.00 to get my car back. A power steering leak turned into 2000.00 job. They are liars, and argument. Both Ray and Greg.
