I went in for a power steering leak. They said my rack and pinion needed replaced. They misquoted me the price. Held my car for ransom 5 days. Would not put my old one back on because they damaged it. They charged me 2000.00 to get my car back. A power steering leak turned into 2000.00 job. They are liars, and argument. Both Ray and Greg.

Sat on my car for months and never finished work place is a huge scam

Pep Boys

2424 E Mcdowell, Phoenix

BEWARE!! I had my car serviced here. Before leaving, the Pep Boys employee who handled my payment verbally told me that my car was in good shape and had no other recommendations for maintenance, which seemed reasonable, as it was showing no signs of problems. Following the oil change, I drove home (approximately 3 miles), where the car sat for approximately one hour. I then drove from my home approximately 7 miles where the car engine was stopped for 15-20 minutes. Shortly after starting my vehicle and driving less than 2 more miles, the engine temperature gauge spiked to the maximum and the engine began chugging. I immediately turned the car off and pulled to the side of the road, in an effort to avoid any further damage to my car. Then my car was towed to a more trusted shop across town. When examining my car, the mechanics at a more trusted shop found that the radiator coolant cap was left off the fill neck and was lying on top of the engine. Photos of the cap location were taken once the hood of the vehicle was lifted (cap was not moved by the trusted mechanic); including three images showing the coolant fill neck and the cap. The other photo showed the hood liner wet from the coolant that came out. Due to the short amount of mileage that was driven, the car thankfully became operable once radiator coolant was filled and the cap placed back on. Based on the photos and a licensed mechanic's evaluation of my car, it is apparent that the Pep Boy's mechanic removed the radiator cap from my vehicle and failed to secure it back onto the radiator fill neck. However, the store manager, Jae, informed me that since I drove my car a few miles "it must have vibrated off after service." I may be a female, but I know that the caps have locks, AND that I have 136K miles on this car and no cap has ever "vibrated off" while driving. Thanks for the advice. Really. I sent photos, receipts, and letters to Jae. He was unwilling to admit any fault. Go somewhere else for w

Never in the field of automotive customer service has anyone ever been so badly treated so many times by the same bunch of 'cartoon characters' as are employed by this branch ! I will trust my vehicle to the Marx brothers or the Muppets before I give you my business again ! Some would say it is my own fault for going back time and time again, others would say I must suffer from 'Stockholm Syndrome' whatever the reason, of my last four visits to this store, (probably because of its proximity to my home) not once did I ever leave with anything but frustration, contempt and high blood pressure ! Well this time you 'boys' have pushed the limits of incompetence and deception too far. I hereby give notice; 'For the duration of my natural life and any in the Hereafter' none of my Personal or Company vehicles will EVER enter your premises again. May I suggest that you restructure your business plan and pursue a line of work that does not require any kind of customer service commitment or skills, better yet, one that has no interaction or dependency with any living thing ! Needless to say, having your Customer Service Representative "reach out" to "put things right" is futile, if you have found someone within your ranks capable of reading this message to you thus far, you should by now have realized that our relationship is permanently severed, over, finished ,through, WE ARE DONE !! ......Alex G. I'm not a big review writer, but when a testimonial is deserved, I'll make a point to give it. Everyone at Tech1Auto was great! Fred had me come in the day I called and they did a perfect job repairing my car. These guys know what they're doing and do what needs to be done... and at a fair price. They made it simple, took care of the issues quickly and professionally, and immediately made me a new long time customer. The experience was like going back in time, when taking your car into the shop was more like getting a haircut... with confidence, care, and familiarity. I would recommend Tech1 to anyone that's trying to find that one last really good auto-shop.

Alvie is incredibly knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He explained services to me so I understood what he was doing. He's also affordable. I went to midas to get my brake pads replaced and they told me I was going to need a ton of work done, which would end up costing about $500. I went to Alvie and he inspected my brakes, and told me what I actually needed, which is none of what Midas recommended to me. He saved me so much money, and so much stress! Kacey Rene

LOVE these guys! They did quality job that five other mechanics wanted 3600-5000. This shop charged me less than half of the total. We essentially had to replace half the engine. Trustworthy and understand that our vehicles are our lifeline to our lives. Very professional, treated my car and myself like family. Screw the other guys, Surprise Auto is my new mechanical home!
