I purchased a used 2000 Nissan Maxima from Dublin Nissan on 8/27/2010. This was a replacement car for a 2000 Maxima that I owned but was totaled in a recent auto accident. I found a replacement at the Dublin Nissan dealership, which appeared to be a perfect replacement because the Car fax report I was given by the salesperson indicated that it was maintained regularly according to the 2000 Nissan Maintenance schedule. In addition to the Car fax report, the salesperson showed me a list of recent repairs that had been performed by their service department to bring the Maxima to acceptable Nissan sale condition – Services performed included replacement of the two front tires, and brake pads on all 4 wheels. Based on both the Car fax, and the Dublin Nissan Service reports I expected no further service would be required for sometime. Was I wrong! After we purchased the car and drove it home over a hundred miles away, my wife sensed a vibration in the steering wheel while braking to exit off of I-80 near our home. I was concerned enough about the vibration that I took the Car to the Brake Masters in Roseville on the following Monday. They checked out the vibration and found the front and rear rotors to be warped. They had to resurface the front brakes, replace the rear ones, and replace all four brake pads. The brake job cost me $ 655. I contacted the Dublin Nissan salesperson, and asked Nissan Dublin to help pay for the brake job, since the Dublin Nissan Service just serviced them and did not disclose that the rotors were out of specification. The Nissan Dublin’s service department had to know the rotors were warped because they reported the brakes were check, and only needed to replace the brake pads. I believe that the Dublin Service department should have fixed the rotors and replaced all the brake pads before giving their approval on the brakes and the sale of the vehicle. I discovered Auto Care Specialist after too many years of being a dedicated dealership customer because I wanted to insure my car warranty was maintained. I took my car in to Auto Care Specialist today for basic service, and fully expected to have the oil, oil filter, air filter and lube done. When Chris contacted me to let me know that my car was in great condition and only needed the power steering fluid flushed, I asked "What about the oil and oil filter, and air filter?" Chris said "Not needed at this time!" Call me surprised by that news, as my car's oil and oil filter were always changed, every 6, 000 miles, and then always seemed to need something else done/replaced that increased the service cost well beyond what I anticipated, by the dealership. How refreshing to be not taken advantage of, and to have only the necessary work done on my car! Great and prompt service. It may have taken me too many years to find this quality auto service center, however, I am thrilled to know that my car care needs will be taken care of, without my needing to take a 2nd out on my house! This is the place I will return again and again! I am very impressed on how they handle the entire process of my car trouble. I was changing out my drive belt and ac belt, not only their price was more than reasonable but their work was spot on! I was able to get in and out fast. Also ask for an oil change while I’m there and it was not a long wait at all! They were upfront about the cost and give me a detailed break down. They also warned me about taxes and fees that may apply later at check out. No hidden cost that will surprise you later.
