Mufflers repair service near Davis, CA

Last December, I need to have Oil, filter change and break pad. I went online and found coupon for Midas in Arden since it's closer to work. I took my car the following day and received great service. I came for Oil and filter only but I knew tabout my break pad is need change because the dealer told me a few months before. Last night, 3/28/13, I went online and read some of the rating. One that stuck to me is, Arden Midas is great at first but the second and third visit doesn't give you good service. Since I received a good service last time, I check this shop again. As soon as I got there, I told the person on the counter what I read about this shop. Someone gave them a bad rating. he said really. Guess what after I told that person about the bad rating, he himself did the service and found out that he is the owner. I received an excellent service. I'll come back again and let my friend knows. thak you

They have the best costumer service and there workmanship is top notch. I have live in this area 20 years and have never felt this good about a shop.

Jeremias took $3500 from me to put a used engine in my old car. Once he took possession of it and took the head off, the game was over. When removing your car and going somewhere else is no longer an option, you have the tiger by the tail. The "cost" kept increasing up to $1800 that I still (involuntarily) agreed to. ($1500 had been my target cost) The last day he told me the final price was $3100, (+ the $700 for the used, untested motor...which was BAD) without my having approved of THAT absurd figure. Many "chores" were charged as separate procedures to jack up the price. Charging hours of labor for motor mounts when the engine is being replaced anyway is one example. The engine had no oil pressure and the "engine" light was on. Smog was due in six weeks and a component was missing. I had to sell the car for junk ($49 at Pick N Pull) and I had to go to court. I won in court but he won't pay. The sheriff went for a "till tap" but couldn't collect any money because he does cash transactions from his pocket. His profile with the BBB and others was not consistent with his past life, as far as years in auto repair, etc. He knows every trick in the book. "If you give this man your ride, sweet memories will die." (slight variation of the Jim Morisson song) I have all the paperwork to prove these comments, from the greed-driven invoice from 1st Choice to the $49 receipt from Pick N Pull. In court he acts confused and thinks I should have brought it BACK to him! I'm actually a little curious to see how high his lack of shame would allow him to raise the price. Of course I regret paying the total to remove my car. I should have let him keep it, but I thought the legal route was the way to go. Well...not so much with this slick operator.

Referred to Family Auto Care by CarMax since they were booked throughout the month. Was impressed by the service Nicole and Sean provided. Very understanding to my situation and was able to offer me a drop off and a pick up ride to and from their shop. Very polite and professional. I was told to take my 1997 extra cab dually which mind you has only 30k miles and was appraised before modifications at $16,000 to Elk Grove to get it lowered by Rick. This shop is a joke. I came in with a brand new DJM 5/7 drop 7" rear flip kit and 3" front djm spindles plus 2" lowering springs. My truck already had a 3/4 drop belltech installed 20 years ago. So, they lower my truck without telling me they are going to re-use the 20 year old belltech drop spindles. I brought all new DJM parts to instal and instead of using my new drop spindles they use my old ones without asking if it is allright. Then I have them instal rear helper bags which I purchased online from air ride technologies and they instal different bags without telling me or calling me to let me know. Wtf. So in the end it takes them 6 weeks to finish my truck. My truck has been garaged since brand new and is like new in/out minus a few paint blemishes on the driver bed. I go to pick it up and it has been parked under a tree with a lot of sap the entire time it was there. It is coated with sap, the trim is now all dried out on the roll up windows between the outer door and glass. The mirrors have marks all over and the paint needs a full clay bar/cut and buff. I asked them why they didn't detail the outside before me picking it up and they were like really. Come on what's the big deal. I'm sorry but do you know where to find a white 1997 454 vortech extra cab dually with grey interior that is close to like new condition anywhere??? I don't think you will. I was building this as a show truck and now I have soooo much more to put into it because they treated my truck like a 200k mile truck in primer.
