I discovered Auto Care Specialist after too many years of being a dedicated dealership customer because I wanted to insure my car warranty was maintained. I took my car in to Auto Care Specialist today for basic service, and fully expected to have the oil, oil filter, air filter and lube done. When Chris contacted me to let me know that my car was in great condition and only needed the power steering fluid flushed, I asked "What about the oil and oil filter, and air filter?" Chris said "Not needed at this time!" Call me surprised by that news, as my car's oil and oil filter were always changed, every 6, 000 miles, and then always seemed to need something else done/replaced that increased the service cost well beyond what I anticipated, by the dealership. How refreshing to be not taken advantage of, and to have only the necessary work done on my car! Great and prompt service. It may have taken me too many years to find this quality auto service center, however, I am thrilled to know that my car care needs will be taken care of, without my needing to take a 2nd out on my house! I restored a 1970 BMW. This shop disassembled the transmission and reassembled it. I asked them to replace seals, fluids and let me know if there were issues. They I paid them to install the transmission as we had issues connecting it to the engine. I was charged about $1500 for the work. We got the engine working a few months ago and took it for a ride. The transmission leaks and the car will not go to second gear. I talked to Bud about it and he refused to work on it or refund money for the work. He blamed it on me and my car for some reason. I paid him what he asked. He told me to sue him if I wanted to get the money back. Worst car repair transaction I have ever experienced.
