I took in my 2007 Nissan Murano because the dealership said I had both exhaust manifolds cracked and leaking. Niki and his team discovered that I really only needed one replaced and the other would be fine for a few more years. This saved me a lot of money and I never would have known the difference! I appreciate the honesty. The other thing to mention was that they ran into some issues with the replacement because the old one was so beat up. Niki said it would take another day to complete, but I was going out of town with my family. He and one of his mechanics worked extra hard and got it done in time. Very good service! -Patrick Naylon

I brought in my 1987 Dodge B150 van. Yes, a really old van that wouldn't pass smog. A "gross polluter" per the smog shop. Michele and Dennis worked on my car diligently to figure out what the issue was. Turns out the timing was way off. After 2nd smog test, the van no.'s were really good to a low emissions vehicle. Yeah! Dennis also pointed out that my steering column was very loose. In the past, I've been told that the whole steering column needs to be replaced. But here at GF Automotive, it might be repaired, saving me a whole lot of money. GF is an honest auto mechanic shop. Hard to come by these days. Thank you Michele and Dennis for all your help!

Sunset Garage deserves more stars than 5. I have fired so many mechanics in my life, and it must have been because I was waiting to find Georges and his crew. I have been using them for well over ten years and am one of their biggest fans. I ALWAYS recommend them anytime somebody brings up an auto issue. They can fix just about any auto out there, and can even tell you the "lemons" to avoid when you are out looking for a new or newer vehicle. Again, THANKS GEORGES!! You are the best. Steven H. At the end of January 2013, my wife and I went to Livermore Ford to look at an 2002 Explorer that was advertised. When we got there, the vehicle was still in the rear of the dealership and filthy dirty beyond all belief both inside and out. It was obviously the truck was not ready to be shown so I'm not sure why it was listed. Anyway we test drove the truck after a very quick wash and immediately noticed some strange sounds and shifting issues. Ben, the salesman with us, heard us and texted another salesman, Shon, who was waiting for us on our return. He swore up and down that there was no transmission problem with the vehicle and that if there was they would not sell it. Although very pleasant, Shon, turned out to be a typical salesman. He promised things that never came to being and changed his story as we negotiated the possible sale of the truck. I really wish I would have walked away, but for some stupid reason I did not and we bought the truck. Also for the first time in my life of buying vehicles, especially used vehicles, we bought a warranty. Good thing we did. One week later, I brought the truck to a different dealer and in 2 hours my newly purchased truck with no transmission problems was diagnosed with a transmission AND rear-end problem. The truck was repaired, but still does not seem right . I called Livermore Ford back and voiced by anger, and frustration with the finance manager, service manager , sales manager , and finally the general manager to let them know what occurred and how we were treated. All was to no avail. It seemed no one could care less and they claimed that the sudden mechanical problems must have occurred after purchase because there were no problems when it left their dealership. It is my own fault and I should have run away from Livermore ford when I had the chance adn not given them our money. DO NOT buy from Livermore Ford. I started by taking my Honda here just for a cheap oil change, but when I had other issues, I returned. Issac is unfailingly polite and helpful, and when I had a "check engine light" problem, he told me it was best to try the small and inexpensive fix first, which he did. He also researched the problem on the web, and showed me a recall which may have contributed to the problem. Issac is a born mechanic- he just knows cars! I also feel that he is as honest as the day is long. I know that many people think all mechanics are cheats, but I also know people want their car fixed for a song, or do not value a workers time and ask for lots of "freebies" or at least free advice.
