I never thought I'd find a mechanic that would delight me enough to write a 5 star review, but this place is different than any other auto mechanic I've ever dealt with.I came in for regular 30K service and spongy brakes, expecting a costly brake job, among other things. After dropping off the car, my phone rang a short while later. I answered, going into my typical defensive mode that I've grown accustomed to from past experience with auto mechanics, ready to question every single thing "wrong" with the car and the thousands of dollars about to be estimated to fix it."Your car's fine," said the voice on the other end. He explained that the brakes had plenty of life left and just needed to be bled. The only thing needed was an oil change and new air filter. I've been going to Paul's Battery & Tire Service for years, as well as many of my friends and family. Some of these reviews are vicious, and I am here to say they do an excellent job mechanically and I can always take my truck in and they check and rotate my tires for free. I brought my BMW into Holland to assess an issue that I was having with my transmission. After the assessment, Holland said that I needed a new transmission, which would cost approximately $8,000.00. I got a 2nd opinion from another repair shop and they said that Holland was grossly incorrect and that my problem was only a minor computer issue. It was an easy fix, my car runs fine now, and the cost was a hundred bucks. I am terribly upset that Holland presumed that I should replace my entire transmission and spend $8000 when it was only a small issue with my car computer that should have been diagnosed correctly in the first place. I trusted Holland and I was misled.
