I came to Extra Care Auto with a used Toyota pick up, for some suspected engine issues. The crew at Extra Care, truly provided extra care. They took the time to find the issue and explain what was needed and why. They showed me the used parts and what to keep an eye on. It is comforting to have complete trust in a mechanic. If you are looking for a auto repair shop you can trust. These are your guys!

This is my go to mechanic shop. My car is a 1991 Toyota Celica that was a gift from my grandpa before he passed so with that sentiment I'm trying to restore her to classic glory. This is where Chris and his trusty crew, Izzy and CJ come in. My upper engine and cooling system needed an overhaul this time but now it sounds quiet, smooth, with better acceleration while curing the overheating problem I was having. I made an appointment the night before for 7:30am the next morning (apparently appointments aren't necessary though), but of course, I overslept and missed it. When I arrived at 10:30am, they were all very forgiving and super kind. Besides being very knowledgable, the staff was eager to help and was very patient at my lack of knowledge about car/auto stuff. There's complimentary coffee and soft drinks available for you as you wait, as well as magazines and free wifi. They offered me a ride to work so I wouldn't have to sit and wait. The ride to and from work was pleasant - Jim was very friendly which made my ride to work nice. They called me a few times throughout the day to update me with what's happening with my car, which was helpful.While I don't know too much about standard pricing for auto services, I think the price I paid was very reasonable. I got a smog test, safety inspection, oil change, rotated tires, replaced my air filter and fixed an annoying crack on my windshield for around $170, which I don't think is bad. They made a list of parts I should replace for next time, and did not pressure me to get the things fixed now. Ultimately, given the price and the great service, this place is a pretty good deal. I'll be coming back here for all my auto/car related needs.

Every aspect of the experience was terrific, starting with the initial consultation and advice, scheduling, reception, the work itself, and delivery. Pat and his crew are extremely knowledgeable about this rare car, and very professional and helpful throughout the process. I've been going to Paul's Battery & Tire Service for years, as well as many of my friends and family. Some of these reviews are vicious, and I am here to say they do an excellent job mechanically and I can always take my truck in and they check and rotate my tires for free. They are trustworthy, fast and honest. Plus they have been there forever....a native San Franciscan. whoop whoop

Sunset Garage deserves more stars than 5. I have fired so many mechanics in my life, and it must have been because I was waiting to find Georges and his crew. I have been using them for well over ten years and am one of their biggest fans. I ALWAYS recommend them anytime somebody brings up an auto issue. They can fix just about any auto out there, and can even tell you the "lemons" to avoid when you are out looking for a new or newer vehicle. Again, THANKS GEORGES!! You are the best. Steven H. I brought in my 1987 Dodge B150 van. Yes, a really old van that wouldn't pass smog. A "gross polluter" per the smog shop. Michele and Dennis worked on my car diligently to figure out what the issue was. Turns out the timing was way off. After 2nd smog test, the van no.'s were really good to a low emissions vehicle. Yeah! Dennis also pointed out that my steering column was very loose. In the past, I've been told that the whole steering column needs to be replaced. But here at GF Automotive, it might be repaired, saving me a whole lot of money. GF is an honest auto mechanic shop. Hard to come by these days. Thank you Michele and Dennis for all your help!
