Engine repair service near West Pittsburg, CA

Brian very patiently and expertly diagnosed the reason for my engine suddenly shutting down for apparently no reason.

Referred to Family Auto Care by CarMax since they were booked throughout the month. Was impressed by the service Nicole and Sean provided. Very understanding to my situation and was able to offer me a drop off and a pick up ride to and from their shop. Very polite and professional. I came into this shop and ask how much it would be to diagnose and replace the thermostat and water pump - they quoted $57 for the diagnosis and $657 for the work. When my husband dropped the car off they wrote the quote much higher so I called to dispute it and was told this was there standard price. I asked them not to work on the car because I didn't feel comfortable with the sudden price change. When we picked up the car it had been moved and I asked why they said they were about to begin the work when I cancelled. I drove it across the street for a diagnosis at another shop and was told that the Coolant hoses were disconnected and all of the coolant was running out of the car...and the car could not be driven it had to be towed!!! Costing us even more money!!! There were no leaks when the car was dropped off at CME. The thermostat light had come on a few weeks earlier we filled up the coolant, nothing was leaking because the car sat in our drive way for two weeks while we were on vacation....until we could drop it off at the shop. Please beware of these vindictive crooks...

Straightforward, patient and considerate of my ignorance when it comes to cars. Mostly interacted with Bruce, who was very helpful, but the small interactions I did have with the rest of the staff were just as nice. Reasonable prices and a very professional atmosphere. This guy (Mark) is AWESOME! I mean where can you find an honest mechanic? Right here! This guy has the most honest place I have ever been. He told me one time, "no, you don't need a tune-up, just an oil change for now. Tune-up can wait." I have been his customer for over 15 years and he has worked on my Mitsubishi Endeavor, several vans I had in the past, my wife's Kia car... and I tell my friends that he is cool! You can say, Dave sent you, hehe.

My Mercedes 2003 c240. The whole front end was busted. Conrtol arms, bushings, etc. I took it in, and the work was fantastic! My car came back clean, and running smooth! I'll be back for my shocks and hoses my car needs. I'm super happy with the service! Happy I found someone I can trust, and knows my Mercedes. YAY!
