They rebuilt my transmission 3 years ago. It is not right and I expected to pay a strongly reduced price like cost of parts for a second rebuild 3 years later. $1900 for the first rebuild and $1700 for the second 3 years later? Not good enough. When I suggested that was not acceptable they said they would rework the price and patch it up. No confidence in that response. Rip off a girl. Never again. My tire guy who I LOVE recommended him but will no longer. I know that bad things can happen but I expected a better response. I should have gotten 100-140k and maybe got 30? :( unexpected for a small town business to not stand behind their work. I just talked to another friend of mine who said he only got 40,000 out of his transmission and he spent over 3k on his. he had added transmission coolers and everything that was recommended. So that is at least 2 people who are very dissatisfied with this place.

I broke down on the road, Scott the Manager towed my car in for free. The experience was very Stress Free... The Cost was great with and with the 10% discount was even better. I have a motor home on a Ford chassis that had an intermittent ignition problem that no one could diagnose for nearly a year. Even Ford was baffled. I finally called these guys who came to my house, correctly diagnosed the problem, ordered the part needed and came back to install it. Problem solved and at a reasonable amount right in my driveway. I dropped off my vehicle to get repaired they said they could not provide an estimate until they took it apart. Once they took it apart they informed me that it would be 6900 for repair or 1750 for them to pit ot back together. After they over a week they informed me the vehicle was ready to be picked up. I said I would pick up by the end of that day . They called me back and asked how I was paying I informed them I was paying by check just like the last 5 times I used this company. They called me back and said that since the amount was so high that they would only take cash or credit card. I went in to pick up my vehicle with credit card and was told they do not take American Express. So I left and went back with my visa debit card they then refused to take my credit card and wanted me to run as debit not credit. A debit card can not be charged for that amount and would not go through. They informed me I would have to bring them in cash or I would not get my vehicle back After inspection of the vehicle they damaged the passengers side of vehicle and when confronted they said they would give me a 1000$ credit but I would have to pay cash and have no warranty on vehicle repair. Not sure if vehicle is actually repaired or not since they have it blocked in and will not let me start it. Not comfortable paying anyone cash with no form of proof of work done. Never had this issue with them considering they repaired that vehicle before along with many others and always paid by check. But to demand cash after the job is supposedly done is ridiculous. I was informed that I had until Monday morning to bring in cash or they will not give me 1000$ credit which is not going to pay for the damage that they did charged me the full price and also storage fees.

I called AAMCO in Lake Worth, FL on 3/19/14 to have them tow my car to check to see why my car wasn’t changing gears. On 3/20/14 Alex called me back and said that I need a new transmission and it would cost me $1500. He said the job would be complete tuesday 3/24/14. I gave him a verbal permission to start working on my car. Alex told me that since it was a big job, he would need a deposit of $600. On saturday morning i brought him the deposit and he reassured me again that my car would be complete on tuesday. On tuesday afternoon, I called Alex to make sure my car was done and he said no and that they were waiting on one part. He assured me that my car would be complete Wednesday afternoon. I called again Wednesday and he said that my transmission was rebuilt and all they had to do was a test drive and that he would give me a call. Since i didn’t hear from him thursday morning, i had my boyfriend call him. He said that he got a speed sensor error code and that he ordered the part and he would have my car on friday. Alex called me friday morning and said that my car is ready to be picked up. When the tow truck picked up my car, the only issue it had was the transmission. When i went to pick up my car, my motor making noise as if a hammer is hitting it, my car turns off when i put in park and Alex refuses to listen to me that they just made a bigger problem on my car. I refused to pay for a car that’s in worse shape then when i brought it in. I called Alex this morning 3/31/14 to ask for corporate’s number, Alex told me “if I contact corporate then the owners will delay fixing my vehicle”. I asked him for the owner’s name and he refused to give me that information. We are on day number 12 and I still DON’T have my car.

This is by far, the most PROFICIENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE and HONEST automotive service I have encountered since moving to Port St Lucie 2 years ago. I purchased a used vehicle that I needed to check out as it had very high mileage. I needed to have my fuses checked and my moonroof to operate- they informed me that I would be charged one hour of labor for a diagnostic and if it could be fixed the charge would be prorated to the actual time of repair. Fuses checked and the moonroof was opened (unfortunately the tracks and motor needed replacement and I elected to just leave it open due to the cost of replacements/installation). I was ONLY charged 30 minutes of labor and came away with LESS than half of one hours labor!!! All the techs (AND Service Manager) were cheerful and took the time to explain each step involved and to return if anything else came up. I have another issue which was resolved and dealt with their thorough knowledge and service--truly 5 STAR SERVICE!! We just moved from the FL Keys to PSL and brought our Winnebago RV built on a 2006 Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis. We are the original owners and we treat it with great pride and care. After doing a lot of research, and checking out lots of reviews online, we paid a visit to Duane and checked out SLAD. We were impressed and felt confident that SLAD was the place to service our beloved RV in the future, for many reasons, too long for this short review. We have since brought our RV in for evacuation and charge of its a/c. The service was performed professionally while I waited. The price was fair and the a/c now blows ice cold. I have been to many auto repair shops and met many auto mechanics, some good, some not so much. I had some discussions about the MB Sprinter chassis, and found that Wayne was up to speed on all the details on this vehicle. I have a lot of confidence with Wayne and SLAD being the auto shop I will be using for all my RV chassis future needs.

Frank had worked on a 1963 chevy convertible I had and did a great job. I had him work on my wifes 2013 GMC Terrain and so when I got my 1956 yes 1956 thunderbird and wanted to change to power disc front brakes and to put an electronic windshield wiper system into this new old car I thought about going to a shop thaat specializes in antique cars and decided because I trusted Frank the owner of the shop I would let him do all the work : new muffler system, front disc brakes, electronic windshield wiper system etc. etc. As they say you get what you pay for. Frank did not disappoint me he is both honest and very knowledgeable. I have recommended Frank to many friends and they have all been happy with the work and honesty. I now walk around with cards for his shop and anyone I have discussion with I make sure to recommend Frank the owner and Adam. They are right you get what you pay for, If you are looking for bargins look else where , but if you are looking for honest knowledgeable mechanics who will not sell you something you don't need see Frank and say hello for me the guy with the 1956 Thunderbird.
